Khan Hotel Samarkand

I advise against booking this hotel, even if you can't find any other options. They will take advantage of you if you're a solo traveler. They have an entire side of the hotel with over a dozen rooms that suffer from massive air conditioning and kitchen noise (starting from 6 AM). It's impossible to sleep, with noise levels exceeding 50 decibels. These rooms are specifically given to solo travelers. When I went to the front desk, they said they couldn't do anything and had an incredibly poor attitude. Contacting Trip.com was useless as well; they simply sided with the hotel, even though I provided audio recordings. This is the worst and most unreasonable hotel I have ever stayed in. Furthermore, don't bother booking here for a good location. Once you arrive, you'll realize this city is very, very small. Everything is a short taxi ride away, and the road conditions aren't great, so you won't want to walk 1-2 kilometers. A good location is meaningless here, and it doesn't mean a good view either; Khan Hotel Samarkand has no view! Other issues: Khan Hotel Samarkand doesn't provide toothbrushes, the male breakfast staff had a terrible attitude, there's no elevator and no one to help with luggage, and the pool is so small it's less than 10 meters long. I doubt anyone would come to swim here; it seems like the pool was just added as a hardware amenity to trick package tour groups.

This is a warm and comfortable hotel. Every staff member we encountered was very kind, especially the beautiful lady at the front desk, who patiently answered all our questions and provided a lot of help. The hotel environment is neat and clean, and the location is excellent. It's directly opposite the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, and it's also very close to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque and Hazrati Imam Mosque, about a 10-minute walk. If you still have the energy, you can walk along the pedestrian street to Registan Square, where there are also small restaurants and cafes. If you're hungry in the evening, the hotel can also provide light meals. We ordered a pizza and beef dumplings, both of which were delicious. The pizza had a thick crust with plenty of cheese, and the beef dumplings came in a bowl of about 10 pieces, similar in size to children's dumplings in China. The hotel also offers laundry service, and you can get your clothes back the next day, which is very convenient. We had a pleasant stay!

Great location! The hotel is right opposite the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. If you walk straight ahead and to your left with your back to the hotel, you'll reach Siyob Bazaar and the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. From there, you can easily walk to Registan Square using a map. It's perfect for a city walk. The hotel facilities are clean, and it seems to be popular with foreign tourists. The breakfast was also delicious! The only downside is that the shower water wasn't hot enough. Otherwise, everything else was good.

Great hotel with spacious rooms and large double beds. It's only a 10-minute walk to the city center! We used the pool every day and were really happy about the water dispenser, which was super practical in the heat.

This is a good hotel with an excellent location, within walking distance of Samarkand's main attractions. The area is quiet and peaceful, and there are many international tourists among the guests, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff deserves special thanks: always welcoming, attentive, and ready to help. On the downside, there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, and the breakfasts seemed quite modest. Otherwise, I was satisfied with my stay. It's a great option for exploring historical Samarkand and walking around the old city.

Overall, the attractions are concentrated, making it ideal for travelers who enjoy exploring on foot. The check-in experience was good. The room was clean, bright, and spacious. The bed was soft and comfortable, providing good relief from travel fatigue and ensuring a decent quality of rest. The only minor drawback is the limited dining options near the hotel. For dinner or to find a variety of local cuisine, you might need to walk a bit further, or consider planning your meals in advance while exploring during the day. Overall, it's a clean, comfortable, and well-located accommodation, especially suitable for travelers whose main purpose is to visit the necropolis and surrounding historical sites. If convenience for dining isn't a high priority, it's an excellent place to stay.
