Despite the fact that this is obviously an older hotel from the 1970s architecturally, you are immediately struck when entering, that it has been internally designed, to make you feel as if you have boarded an ocean liner during the golden age of travel. Yes, if you look into some of the corners you will find it a little shabby chic and threadbare in places, but the overall concept is very fun and retains something of the elegance of a bygone era. The public areas are immaculately clean! I never failed to spot hotel staff constantly mopping and polishing every surface, everyday. Bedrooms are spacious and well appointed with everything you’ll need and could best be described as traditionally Iberian in their decoration. This is certainly not a featureless modern hotel, but one with a distinct and unique character, which personally I felt added to our holiday. I would however add at this juncture, that I found the bed rather too firm and uncomfortable for my personal taste, the other half enjoyed it and found it to be excellent. The bedrooms are very clean, with bedding made and changed daily as required. A detraction on the accommodation front is however the dreadful smell that emanates from the plug holes in the bathroom at night, it could best be described as what we in Britain would call the smell of “drains”. I complained about this twice during our stay and credit where it’s due, the management immediately sent a cleaner and technician on both occasions to try and rectify the issue. I would say at this point, that it was probably nothing to do with the hotel directly, but more to do with the way that the infrastructure over there works. There is a distinct waft in the air of a night in some places. Let’s come onto service and food. I did read several reviews that were politely critical of the staff, but from my own experience, I found all staff to be very helpful, courteous to a fault and attentive to detail when actually being served. The only ever so slight criticism I would give, is not towards any particular individual, but to service in general in the restaurant areas. Staff don’t seem to be well organised with regards to looking after designated sections and tables and you can end up feeling like you are waiting a long time to order, as they’ll be mob handed in one area whilst another can be unattended. There is also a lack of being asked if you’d like another drink with your meal during dinner service. The food itself is in the traditional format of a starter, soup, fish course, main course and pudding to a set menu not to be found in many hotels these days, but was generally tasty and well presented. The hotel does a BBQ twice a week and the freshly cooked steaks were sublime! I would not recommend this hotel to young families with small children who can invariably be very picky with foods, it’s definitely more of an adults hotel for those with broader palates who enjoy eating interesting dishes. Breakfast was first class, w

We have just returned home to Helsinki from a week's pleasant holiday at the beautiful San Agustin Beach Club hotel, of which we can't say anything negative about. The whole staff was cordial and polite. Food was good and the half board menu of five cources was suprisingly fun experience. The atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and e.g. you could actually sleep in yor sunbed by the pool, because there were never that kind of loud pool music that is unfortunately so common by many hotel pools these days. The hotel building’s public areas interiors look similar to interiors of old Atlantic ocean steamers. So nice looking. We hope that the hotel liked us - as much as we liked the hotel.

We had a really lovely break in a really nice hotel. We had another hotel booked up however we were told that there were renovations going on therefore we swapped to this hotel instead at late notice and saved quite a lot of money too. Firstly I would like to thank the hotel managers and staff for being so friendly and for keeping the hotel immaculate as the rooms and surrounding areas were cleaned and tidied to such a high standard. We had a lovely sea view room overlooking the pools and could hear the waves at night which was very relaxing. We absolutely loved the cruise ship feel of the hotel which was quite old fashioned but great character. The best thing for us was the location to the lovely beach as it took 5 minutes to walk onto the beach which always had plenty of sunbeds, also, you can walk for miles along the beach front and promenades. We only had breakfast at the hotel but that was perfect with a great variety of cooked food, fruit and pastries but I personally loved the freshly cooked omelettes served at the table. We did walk to local restaurants which were nice but next time we may go for half board as the food looked great. I did read the reviews about the rooms not having many sockets therefore we bought a multi plug converter with USB’s (see pic) so we just plugged that into the socket next to our bed so it wasn’t an issue. If I had to pick one slight negative it was the bottom of the pools looked a little green but didn’t stop us using them. This hotel is excellent value for the money, thank you and we will return soon.

The Hotel staff are welcoming and friendly throughout. Our room was a little old fashioned but was enough for our needs and the sea view was stunning. Breakfast choices excellent, evening meal (5 courses except for BBQ evenings) had “interesting”courses but quality was very good. No issues in pool area getting sun beds. All in all you get good value for money.

This is our 3rd time at this hotel. 2021, 2022 and now 2025 at the end of a 7 night stay. In 2021and 2022 it was in need of a refurbishment, revamp. Well some changes have happened. THE POOL AREAS now have all new sun beds and parasols (Good thing ). The floor areas have been thinly screened, but unfortunately it’s too thin and is now breaking up (shame needs to be done again but thicker). THE JACUZZI is still in need of repair (Bad thing) lots of tiles dropped off as it was in 2022). STAFF, FOOD all good as in 2022. All the paint work and wood panelling have all had a coat of paint/wood-stain (Good thing). Corridors carpets still in need of a good.shampoo as in 2022. Although the hotel is basically themed as a Spanish galleon the bedrooms need bringing into the 21 century.(the are still drab and out dated. Will come back in a couple of years hopefully changes have happened.

Paid for a sea view well worth it beautiful view of the sea and the hotel pools. The room and the hotel was clean. Excellent buffet at breakast but at dinner it was a set meal no choice with food given with the exception of a buffet barbecue twice a week. Alan at reception was extremely helpful. We were able to exchange the pool towels daily. Two sockets in room one in bedroom and the other in bathroom for charging appliances.

Absolutely lovely We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely clean and friendly hotel. The staff were so nice and the location was virtually on the beach. We had our room cleaned every day to a high standard and the breakfast was so nice as we had a fresh omelette brought up to us every morning. Thank you to the hotel staff for making us feel so welcome.
