Delamar Hotel

DO NOT BOOK MOLD IN HOTEL ! My husband and I had reserved the hotel for a week. Day 4 I started to get really sick with respiratory symptoms. Day 5 my symptoms got worse and my husband had the same symptoms when he woke up. Day 6 was the worse when we woke up. We couldn’t get out of bed and slept from 10pm the previous night to 3pm that day and needed to cancel our plans. That day, we noticed when we were outside the room our symptoms improved, but were worse when we woke up each morning. My mother in law suggested there could be mold in the hotel. That’s when we looked up and holy cow, small black dots everywhere. We also noticed there was a storage area left open near the elevators with really bad mold. As soon as we saw all this mold we left to my sister in laws Airbnb. We told the hotel staff and they said “yeah it’s an island and it’s really humid, we try our best to manage the mold.” No refund or anything offered. Something tells me they knew about the mold! Amazing location, friendly staff, clean, everything you would want. Staff was helpful in getting us around since it was our first time in San Andres. We walked everywhere, rented a buggy one day to explore the island better. It was just perfect.

We stayed at the hotel for one week. Lovely and friendly staff who was were helpful with any question we had. The rooms were very clean and we appreciated the nice tv. The room did not have any window which made it very cool. However there was a few things we missed such as a hand shower, bath math, more hangers or maybe a drawer to place our things, there’re weren’t a lot of room to place the luggage. In all I would recommend the hotel if you want a price worthy, clean hotel without a lot of amenities (there’s a rooftop but no breakfast or restaurant, no gym).

Just wanted to make one thing clear to everyone, the "Interior" rooms HAVE NO WINDOWS. I cannot recommend these rooms, and I would not stay in one of them again, but the hotel overall and rooms with windows seem nice. It has a well-designed modern feel, though made of cheaper materials, which means some lights were already broken, paint was peeling in the bathroom, etc. The doors were also swollen from the humidity, so they have to be slammed shut just to close and you can hear everything in the hallway, so it gets fairly noisy. Overall experience was fine, just less than what I was hoping/expecting.

Just an average hotel stay. I was expecting more based on the descriptions I had read. Room was small for two people but we spent most of our time at the beach anyways, which was only 3 blocks away.

Love the hotel very clean, staffing very nice. Can walk anywhere, highly recommended.
