As a solo traveller, staying at Always Inn in San Clemente was a great treat. Freda has set up a real oasis of calm and quiet - one block from all the action on Del Mar and a short walk down to the beach. My room was a good size with a comfortable bed and well set up bathroom. I had direct access off the bedroom to a lovely garden patio. Freda has put a lot of thought into the garden which is full of lovely flowers and trees. One of the deciding factors on choosing Always Inn was the feedback about the breakfast. Everything everyone has said is true! Freda is not only a generous and kind host, she is an incredible cook! The breakfasts were such a treat and an opportunity to meet and talk with other travellers. Freda’s breakfasts are like nothing I have experienced anywhere else - so delicious and filling. I filled up on her amazing home cooking and hardly had to eat anything else all day! San Clemente is a cute beach town with much to offer. I highly recommend both San Clemente as a lovely beach side spot and Freda’s warm hospitality and the oasis of Always Inn.

We stayed two nights at the Always Inn. It is in a great location one block off the main street of San Clemente. The host, Freda, is amazing— so welcoming and made sure we had a wonderful time. She was generous with advice and gear for us to borrow for the beach. And her breakfasts were huge and delicious! Thanks for a great stay!

When you step into the Always Inn, be prepared for a wonderful experience! It is a home away from home, featuring the most comfy pillows and bedding, well appointed decor throughout the house and a five-course breakfast that I am still thinking about. It really shows how much the owner, Freda, loves providing her guests with a warm and friendly atmosphere. She aims to please and she certainly does with her kindness, generosity and love of cooking. I miss hearing her infectious laughter and can’t wait to go back! Hugs! Toni

Garden delight in San Clemente
A quick down south for a wedding in Fallbrook and a visit to a fun tiki bar down the street from the Always Inn. Freida is a lovely host and gave us wonderful advice about the local restaurants and some of her own food! Breakfast was stellar. Be prepared to hear some amazing stories about Freida’s life.

Charming, cozy art-filled inn. Freda, the owner hostess, was gracious, friendly and very helpful. She made dinner reservations for us and gave us lots of recommendations on what to see and do. Our room was fine for 2 adults. The breakfast was delicious, lots of variety, well-prepared.

Freda was the most excellent host. My room was clean and very quiet. I loved the small patio outside my door to sit and have breakfast. Her Sunday breakfast was to die for. Perfect location to walk around to shops and restaurants. I will definitely be coming back to stay here.

Freda was so friendly and kind. The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very perfect for walking to restaurants and shopping. I would recommend the Always Inn for anyone that is planning a trip in and around San Clemente.
