Nice and affordable hotel in Downtown San Diego and not far from the airport

Great location and delicious breakfast!

I booked this room in advance for three people, with one person intended to sleep on the sofa bed. However, there were no blankets or pillows for the sofa bed in the room. I called the front desk three times, but they were unhelpful and dismissive. Eventually, I went to the front desk myself to get pillows and blankets, and their attitude was still poor. Finally, a staff member arrived, but they brought what looked like a sheet, not a proper blanket, which left my child feeling cold at night. We booked the room for two nights, and frustratingly, the cleaning staff didn't come to clean or empty the trash on the second day. It was terrible. We ended up cleaning the room ourselves and taking out the bathroom trash. The hotel's breakfast offered limited variety, was monotonous, and frankly, unappetizing. There was nothing enjoyable to eat. On the positive side, the hotel's location is excellent, close to the City Hall, San Diego Bay, and the USS Midway Museum. This was the only redeeming quality. However, the hotel is located near a busy street, and the windows aren't soundproof. The constant traffic noise was very disruptive and loud. Additionally, the hotel entrance has motion-sensor lights. At night, any car noise from the street would trigger these lights to turn on automatically, which disturbed our sleep. We had to get up to turn them off. Overall, the hotel's service was disappointing.

Was fine. Room was excellent. Breakfast was ok not bad. Hotel has gym and pool I didn’t use though. The only bad thing is it’s right next to rail crossing and it’s always very noisy.

The parking fee was stunning $40 and the price was not informed anywhere I could find...

The hotel was in a great location. The only issue were the elevators.

The location of the hotel is amazing. Near airport and cruise port. Staff is super friendly. The rooms are pretty worn out but for one night it’s ok. They definitely need to update the windows, every time a train comes a long you can hear the sound from the railway crossing. The elevators are terrifying but it seems they are currently updating them.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in San Diego and it was fine overall. The location is great, just a short walk to the cruise terminal, which was really convenient. However, the elevator is very slow, so be prepared for that. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. Overall, it was a decent stay, but there are a few things that could be better.

Clean and comfortable hotel with excellent location and good breakfast. But there some things that I didn’t like: 1. There are just 2 elevators for the whole building, so you will probably have to wait 5-10 minutes to use it. 2. Parking is $40 per night, which is a too expensive (private parking near hotel is cheaper) 3. Breakfast area is not huge, sometimes you need to wait for free spot. Otherwise everything was pretty good.

The hotel is in an old building but the rooms are clean.
