Estancia la Jolla Hotel & Spa

Met up here with some friends for drinks after visiting the birch Aquarium. Great ambience, drinks were great, nailed it with the food. Special shoutout to Hannah for taking care of us in the lobby! We will definitely come back when we have more time!

Kevin might be the greatest bartender I’ve ever encountered. Kind, friendly, attentive, and he’ll make you whatever you want. If you don’t know what you want, he can (and will) help. An elevated experience that shattered all expectations.

Jason, the bartender nailed my flavor profile, with meticulous attention to detail and a wealth of expertise. His engaging personality made the experience even more enjoyable; he's not only a skilled mixologist but also a fantastic conversationalist. Highly recommended stopping in to see him.

Dear Trip Advisor, If you happen to stay in this hotel you MUST spend some time with Jason at the bar. He made us incredible drinks and was a gem to spend time with. 10/10 to Jason. Great atmosphere and environment. Also the burger and fries were great.

There were a number of things (one major, the others smaller but details matter) that went wrong for our very short, one night stay. I was excited to have found a beautiful, updated hotel, so close to the colleges we were touring that my son would be applying to that could become our home away from home if he went there. Yes, the hotel is beautiful, but when these kinds of things fall through the cracks, it shows that appearance is more important than the experience. I spent hours scouring online for hotels that had a hot tub and were relatively updated. I was willing to spend more just so we could enjoy some time in the hot tub after dinner. In fact, during my research, there was another hotel I looked at not in the same area, but that was modern and updated, but whose pool and spa area was closed for renovations as detailed on every page of their website at the top. That information was so clear and so I did not choose that hotel for that reason. I was texted by the resort the day before our stay asking if I had any special requests. I loved that detail and thought it would be so great that all of our requests could be handled before we’d even gotten there. Unfortunately none of them were achieved. I requested a quiet room as we are all very light sleepers someplace far away from an elevator. I also requested an extra blanket and pillow for my 2nd son. Now, not knowing the layout of the resort and where elevators were placed in relation to the rooms, I felt pretty safe explaining that I wanted a quiet room and reiterated that fact at check-in. Unfortunately, when we went to check in our room was not ready, and we were also informed about the pool and spa closure. I expressed my extreme disappointment and explained that that information wasn’t shared anywhere on their website, otherwise I would have booked a different hotel. The only thing that was offered to me was a LYFT to a nearby hotel, whose pool and spa we could use but only until dusk. The check-in clerk should have called a manager over to speak with me at that point, as she could see how upset I was that such a major part of our stay was not available. I didn’t push the issue bc my 2 sons just wanted to head out until our room was ready. I reminded the check in clerk that we had requested an extra blanket and pillow, and we left the resort instead of waiting around for the room to be ready which she said would take about an hour. We unloaded the car with the help of the amazing valet team that were so friendly and professional and left to get some dinner. Not five minutes off property and I received a text message that our room was ready. Obviously, not the hour that she had said, and I would’ve waited around for 5 minutes if I’d known. When we got back after dinner, and went to our room, she had put us in the second room next to the door that opens and closes anytime anyone in any room near us was going to their room. Now, the elevator was far away, but as I said, I didn’t know

Our family visited Estancia and ate at the Lobby Bar where we were greeted by our server Kevin. Kevin was awesome, completely making sure to cater to our needs. He learned all of our names, and made the experience more personable for us. He offered the Welcome Drink to all of is of a delicious berry lemonade that we all enjoyed very much. Thank you so much to Kevin for making our experience wonderful and we’re definitely coming back to Estancia again!

We got food from the restaurant at the lobby bar and it was outstanding, the service was amazing Hannah did an outstanding job serving us and making sure all the food was ok, she provided good insight on the food and great recommendations. Overall a great experience would come back again in the future.

Nestled right on the scenic coast of La Jolla San Diego, Estancia Hotel seamlessly blends luxury with the surrounding nature. I am quite a nature person and appreciated the themes of incorporating equestrian and nature throughout the hotel. I think that's what sets this hotel apart, as evident in their onsite butterfly sanctuary and bee hives. You can truly immerse yourself amidst the lush foliage and it acts as reminder of the importance of sustainability. To connect the nature with the overall theme, the food and drink menus incorporate elements of their own garden and beehives. We tried their newly introduced tapas-style cuisine at the Trading Post (lobby restaurant). Delicious! I would recommend trying the oysters and onion rings for food options. They have flatbread, cheese boards, and one of the most unique combinations I have ever seen - a lobster corndog! So innovative and delicious. Throughout it all, the attentive and knowledgeable staff at Estancia ensure that every guests needs are met. Half of our party wasn't drinking alcohol, but the servers and mixologist made sure to accommodate special mocktails. Only got one picture of our food since we devoured every plate. Will be coming back..
