I've stayed at Verde Luna in the past and really enjoyed it but people should be aware that there is a large construction project taking place on the ocean side lot next to the hotel where the view is. Any rooms looking out toward the ocean will be subject to lots of power tools, heavy equipment, dust, and building. In addition the hotel is in need of some upgrades, especially in the penthouse where the palapa is disintegrating and there are rodents in the roof. There is no longer anyone present onsite other than the cleaning ladies. Communication with management was pretty muddled. I booked the room with a kitchen and the ocean view and when I arrived I realized that the room they had put me in would be looking directly into the construction site. I was told by one staff person that I could move rooms but later was told that they had never said this and that it was not possible. I stayed the first half of my trip in the penthouse which is quite peaceful with ocean views and rooftop access but there are pigeons roosting in the palapa and the outside lounge area is covered with bird droppings nightly. The whole place has a neglected, shabby feel which is a shame because it is a really nice place otherwise. Management offered me a few extra days in the penthouse to make up for the construction and the room location but took that offer away when I decided to stay elsewhere for the second part of my stay rather than having construction directly outside my window. Overall the management communication was subpar. If you stay there this winter definitely requst a room with a streetside balcony to avoid the chaos happening on the ocean side.
