We had a good stay at this hotel, with a great location. The hotel is old, but we really appreciated its historical charm, especially the beautiful staircases and the delightful elevator. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good, yogurt , bagels, cream cheese, oaks, apples and oranges, coffee. We felt that the price matched the quality of our stay perfectly.

The stay was great! The cleanliness was excellent! However, the queen bed was sinking in the middle.. suitable for couple =)

It was clean and reasonably priced, and the location was great. The front desk staff were very helpful. I highly recommend it.

Room was nothing like the images/photos unfortunately. Very old and they need to address the really bad smell throughout the whole place

as advised room was smaller than paid for no cleaning done in 3 nights stayed there no maid service at all during stay no towels replaced hotel and rooms very tired and needing modernised window handle missing and condensation vinyl separating from bathroom work top carpets grubby heater old and grubby not great experience paid too much for what was provided

Service was excellent. Breakfast had fruits, cereal, oatmeal, bread/toast. There was both cold and hot water and coffee 24/7 in the lobby which I appreciated. Microwave available in the room and lobby. Elevator is pretty old since the building itself is old. The rooms are also very old and small, but it was clean when I arrived. No A/C in the rooms, but you can ask for a fan. I generally run pretty hot so the fan was decent enough to get me through the nights, but I found it to be pretty hot in the rooms with or without the fan. No ventilation in the rooms (not even the bathrooms). Overall not a bad experience, you get what you pay for, but I would book again if on a budget.

Good hotel for the price tag. Good location, very close to Union Square, with easy access to public transportation. Breakfast was simple but complete. Would definitely sleep here again if in San Francisco on a budget.

Stayed in the room on ground floor just next to the lobby. A little noisy, can hear everything in the reception. However, everything else is good and at this price point you really cannot ask for anything more. Location is amazing, very close to all the other luxury hotels. There's always hot water and coffee in the lobby for everyone.

Everything was great . Got free breakfast but not very great still better than nothing overall experience very good

Easy to find, checked in quickly. Loved the room we had. The location feels historic and full of character. Front desk attendant was super nice and helpful. The old style elevator was very fun to use. Our window had access to the escape stairs and over looked the main road which added an adventures feel. It was perfect for what we needed. We were able to walk to the Mosaic where we were attending a concert.

Very convenient. comfortable and spacious room with bath tub, fridge, and microwave oven. Hot water available right outside the room. location excellent! beautiful and clean room. nice hotel managers. Very helpful!

Overall rating was average. I was a bit disappointed with the valet parking situation. They stop the service at 10pm.
