Hotel Griffon – No Resort Fee

Great hotel with great location. Although the inside is a bit old, it has its value for its price!

Was okay but walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the hallways and they can hear everything in your room.

This hotel is adorable. The staff are so kinda and welcoming and it is so clean! We stayed in a king room that was overlooking the bay…it was so beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend. 😊

Can’t beat the location! Charming and clean historical building. Our room was small and had no view but we weren’t there for the view and the room. Nice shower and I liked that the vanity is outside the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again! And the restaurant (Perry’s) in the lobby is one of the best! Great place to stay!

The location is excellent. The reception is very kind and helpful. The hotel provides free coffee, tea and pastries in the morning. During my four nights stay, just one unfortunate incident was the elevator was out of order on the night before the thanksgiving day. Apart, strongly recommend the hotel if you want to stay near the piers and bridges.

I liked the hotel I think it was good for the price

The good: excellent location, right near the Embarcadero and the Bay Bridge.  Easy access to BART and MUNI.   The bad: customer service was atrocious by one staff member, who made the stay very uncomfortable.  When presented with a problem, he was very unresponsive and accusatory back towards us.  Unacceptable.  For what it's worth, the hotel redeemed itself and better service was offered.  However, no customer should have to experience anger and frustration of the staff pointed towards them.  On top of it, rooms are not level which makes sleep difficult.  The floor is slanted and after the initial charm, it is quite the nuisance.

Totally convenient to make use of transportation . Close to ferry building that you are able to walk there in a few minutes. Safe and not much noise .
