Villa Alta - Residenza d'Epoca Con Piscina

Hosts were amazing. Almost as stunning as the villa and the view. We were there for a wedding and it was spectacular. Everything was well planned and executed seamlessly. We had the whole villa for the weekend. All the wedding activities were onsite. Day of arrival pizza party under the trees allowed all the family and friend to connect / reconnect if we hadn't already by the pool earlier in the day. Day of wedding brunch on the terrace set us all up nicely for the afternoon ceremony in the garden. Appetizers / drinks after pictures continued in the same fashion as everything leading up to dinner. Spot on and well thought out. Loved the pickled quail eggs! Finally, dinner... The Villa team set up the most beautiful and elegant table I have ever seen. Flowers were gorgeous, candles and place setting over the top. All in all, a most magical weekend celebrating the newlyweds. Raffaella, Monica and Florian were attentive and made the time spent with them a beautiful experience. Highly recommend.

We were so excited to stay in this villa but unfortunately it was a bit of a dissapointment, maybe due to the end of the season. I guess we got upgraded to the main villa instead of a room with jacuzzi. Villa was of course very beautiful and our room was huge. It felt like you were in a museum but in the end it was a bit of a eerie stay, it felt that it was already closed for the season. Our rooms were cold (luckily with the AC we were able to heat them), at first we didn't have any hot water for the shower and the bathroom was super cold during the entire stay - they fixed the hot water in the end of our stay. There were also these Asian stink bugs in the rooms, which was a bit of inconvinience even though they don't do anything but neverthless not a nice feeling to share a room with them. At the end of our stay we tried to close all the window panels for them to stay away, as they tend to crawl inside for some warmth. Breakfast was actually quite ok for couple of mornings. It would get boring for a longer stay and I do understand other guests saying it could be much better in a place like this. We would have wanted to swim but it was too cold with no hot water in the shower so skipped that and no jacuzzi option either, which was one of the reasons we picked to stay in this accommodation. All in all, it was such a let down for us.

We stayed at this property with our two children recently. I have nothing but good things to say about this beautiful property and the great staff. We stayed in a suite on the top floor. While it was a bit dated, we had plenty of space and it was very clean. We had the best sleeps at the property. It was lovely waking up to the church bells and the birds singing. Breakfast was great! Things to keep in mind - there is no dinner on site so you do need a car and there is no elevator. So if you are staying on the top floor, you have to get your luggage up there. If we come back to this area, we would stay at Villa Alta again.

The hosts were EXTREMELY helpful in getting us around and the breakfast was very refreshing.

They will charge you five euro for refill tap wat Driving in, it was hard because it was unpaved that should’ve been mentioned and the Hostess told us there’s a restaurant down the road that we could eat that we went there. It was closed then we told her you know what how about you? Should I could provide you sandwiches , they charge us €15 for three bottle’s of tap water’s it was not sealed and I told her .

We had a lovely stay at villa Alta. The staff were very welcoming, building was historical but modern. Really loved waking up to the birds chirping. Would highly recommend staying here to get away from the hustle and bustle for an authentic counrty feel.

It was very tranquil but a bit too isolated for us. The staff couldn't do enough for us. It was very hilly.

Pool and private transportation up to Verona

This is an amazing Villa located very convenient to Lucca, especially by train. The grounds are immaculate and include a pool, bathhouse, tended garden, and producing olive trees in the back. The front balcony offers a view of Pisa including the leaning tower. We were given the Music room, which is grand with high cooing and large balcony. Our only concern was the bathroom with the doorway being 6 foot tall and made of stone, and my 6 foot 5 inch tall head hitting it several times. Otherwise a fantastic visit.
