Howard Johnson Plaza Jujuy

We stayed for 1-night in early September at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Jujuy while in transit from Cafayate to the Quebrada de Humahuaca ($170 US). We chose the hotel for its central location (~6 blocks from the main square) and its free underground parking. We had booked a deluxe double room but, on arrival we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was huge, with a large bedroom (king bed, desk and chair, TV, mini-refrigerator) with a city view, and a similarly-sized ensuite bathroom with a 2-person jacuzzi tub. There was also a large, separate sitting area with its own full bathroom. The area around the hotel had 2 large supermarkets and some restaurants, although the better restaurants were closer to the main square. The pedestrian shopping street, with stores and a mall, was a 2-3 block walk. Breakfast at the hotel was a bit of a disappointment, with a modest selection of cold cuts, fruit, with the only hot food being runny scrambled eggs in a food warmer. Overall, a comfortable business hotel in a good location.
