We experienced a wonderful stay at Dunton Guest House. We arrived late after a long drive from Timbavati with our family, which exist of 15 people, youngest 3 months and oldest 74 years old. The owner was very thoughtful to switch a room to the ground floor for the less mobile people. In no time everyone was checked-in and settled in a beautiful rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The owner and wife are lovely and friendly people. The garden with pool is beautiful, well-maintained with seats to sit and enjoy.

I was last here in 2008! The Quatermain is still a magnificent hotel - excellent service, beautiful setting and unmatched hospitality. We were only here for 1 night and loved every moment of it. It's a peaceful and serene setting in the hustle and bustle of the Rivona area but it still manages to feel as though you are outside the city. Would definitely return again!

The host is immaculate in her people skills, and she even assisted in jump-starting my vehicle when my battery went flat. I encourage you to book yourself in and feel at home. My stay started out okay at this 4 star hotel, well situated in the Morningside area of town but my last 2 days were not okay on account of a problem with the hot water. After a long day just wanted to unwind and take a long bath, to my surprise there was no hot water. Well these things can happen I guess so I promptly told the reception about it so it could be fixed by the next day. In the morning...Still no hot water. I told the reception again, thinking that they would have the whole day again to fix it but upon returning to the hotel the problem was not resolved. The manager said that the maintenance crew had tried to fix it but fixed the wrong ”thing”, which means that they never went into any of the rooms to see if they had actually fixed it. They could not switch my room because it was the whole back block of the hotel and the only rooms left also didn't have hot water! I left in the morning with yet another cold shower. Sorry folks but this is unacceptable, even it it meant having someone work on it all night, it should have been fixed. Oh, and also food at the hotel restaurant takes 45 minutes to prepare! Order early! Safe in the room doesn't function either. Change to 2 stars maybe 3 at best.
