Seehotel Billroth

Hotel with a**osphere, some beautiful old rooms, some modern. The lack of staff was noticeable: no unplanned meals possible. Very nice waiters and waitresses, the reception staff were always helpful. Very beautiful grounds with meadow and nature, beautiful jetty with entrance to the lake. In any case, an unforgettable stay.

We were invited to a dream wedding at Lake Wolfgang and were really looking forward to our stay. Due to the longer travel time, we booked three double rooms for our family for the weekend. After the written request on our part, we received the offer for the room including half board. After checking with the hotel, we were told that this was a typographical error on the part of the employee and that the price for bed and breakfast was the same. Interesting.. Half-board and breakfast have the same price there...., but good... The wedding began at 2:00 p.m. - for us it was a matter of course to get the room before the wedding started, just to be able to relax to freshen up and move. There were also several families with small children, who also wanted to take care of the little ones. Another interesting experience as the rooms weren't ready until 3pm! So an hour after the start of the wedding! It is incomprehensible to me how such a misorganization can come about. But well... After several urgent requests we got a room in advance. The wedding then took place on the jetty next to the boathouse. Very nice ambience there... unfortunately without sun protection... but umbrellas were made available to the wedding party. With the result that the back rows got a view of open umbrellas. Here I ask myself the question, why not invest in an awning that you can unroll if necessary? Especially if the website advertises weddings? The agape took place in the adjoining boathouse. A nice, clean house, unfortunately without a glass washer... so after the first round you got the prosecco served in a lemonade glass.... Dinner was scheduled for 7 p.m.... the starter was served around 8 p.m. or later. The taste was very good, but the portion size would have been too small for small children. After that, the company was allowed to wait again, because the kitchen staff didn't manage to serve the main courses (either the side dish - which should have been fried pink! or the fish) at the same time for the 60 guests. The main dishes were successively served at intervals of more than 20 minutes. Unbelievable when you consider that the hotel's website advertises seminars and weddings and then it is not possible to satisfy all or most of the guests at the same time. The dessert then took over an hour again, which messed up the entire process of the wedding. On the positive side, the food tasted very good. Another negative aspect is that the service staff wasn't able to clear away the empty plates, the set plate was taken away after the dessert after the guests had asked for it several times. After initial misunderstandings when booking the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. Attentive service, consistently friendly hotel staff, a very clean hotel and an excellent breakfast buffet.

Beautiful hotel complex on the lake! - In a well-kept park with access to its own sun and bathing platform, as well as a boathouse, on the lake. Room with panoramic view (e.g. # 150) spacious, small balcony, sofa group, bathroom separated from toilet = very comfortable. BUT: no minibar! Not even a bottle of water at reception!! The **** class dinner in the restaurant was not possible because the kitchen was blocked with food preparation for seminar guests! The kitchen is currently not recommended for private guests (after a test). In conversation with the management, it emerged that this hotel is also suffering from an extreme shortage of staff due to the pandemic. This applies to the catering industry around this magical lake. In order to survive at least halfway, the focus has been on seminars, events and weddings. "We private people" are irresponsibly neglected as a result! The rate of € 250 per night including a manageable breakfast is therefore in no way **** justified. The wonderful information on the IT page belongs in the land of "Once upon a time...". – After four nights we left very dissatisfied. Will we come back? Probably yes, because the conversation with the management was objectively positive and insightful. The business with the "private sector" is now to be renewed step by step for the new season. As I said: this hotel could be a dream hotel if... We wish the management the best of luck and will be happy to come back in 2021 to "check it out".

We were able to get married in church in St. Gilgen in August 2021, followed by a boat trip across Lake Wolfgang and mooring for the Agape in the boathouse of the Seehotel Billroth. The boathouse and its jetty right on the water are perfect for a cozy champagne reception in the afternoon! Everything else in the Billroth was also perfect: the rooms (also for the guests), the really good menu for dinner, the extremely friendly service staff... everything was really great! The mobile bar was kept open until 5 a.m. according to our wishes, so there was no official curfew! The Billroth also took care of tapping the keg and the wedding cake (which we were very happy about :-)). We also got decorations / tables spontaneously, the staff were really very helpful and accommodating! All in all, we had a wonderful wedding in the Seehotel Billroth, with a constant view of Lake Wolfgang and the mountains. :-) Thanks again to the whole team!

ideally located high up facing the very pretty Wolfgangsee, the Seehotel looks great, we have a room with a magnificent view of the lake and a small balcony. The building has an old-fashioned and sober charm, the room is very pleasant, spacious and elegant. The terrace and the private beach are its assets. decent breakfast however the restaurant where we ate the first evening is overrated. small downsides: the rather amateurish service is not up to par and the wifi is deplorable
