Lavender Inn by the Sea

Lavender Inn by the Sea ★★★

📍 206 Castillo St, Santa Barbara

"This was my second stay, and it was excellent. The beach is just a short walk away. We arrived very early, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They helped us store our luggage, showed us how to borrow bicycles, and when we returned to check in, our luggage had already been brought to our room on the second floor. They also helped us store our luggage when we left and carried it with us. It was wonderful. I will definitely stay here again."

Sandpiper Lodge - Santa Barbara

Oasis Inn and Suites ★★

📍 3344 State St, Santa Barbara

"In downtown, there is a Gelson’s supermarket opposite. The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the rooms are relatively large and have been partially renovated."

Avania Inn of Santa Barbara
9.2 (122 reviews)

Avania Inn of Santa Barbara ★★

📍 128 Castillo St, Santa Barbara

"Santa Barbara is beautiful, but this accommodation experience is really bad! The hotel room is very small compared to other hotels on Highway 1. The balcony room we chose was assigned to the side of the road, which has noise problems. The dining area for breakfast is very small and crowded. The worst experience is that I was asked to pay the room fee by credit card after the arrival. I repeatedly confirmed when the previous guarantee reservation would be released. The staff told me that the guarantee would be released 1-2 days after leaving the hotel, but I actually left the hotel on October 2nd. The guarantee had not been released when I posted the review. During this period, I consulted Ctrip's online customer service twice, and five people answered it before and after, but the problem was not solved at all. It took more than an hour each time, and I also answered domestic calls and spent phone bills. The guarantee has not been released yet (no other hotels on this trip had this problem, and the guarantee was released on the day of departure). A so-called complaint appeasement online customer service of Ctrip was even more inexplicable. In the second communication, not only did he not solve the problem, but he also offended me with very impolite words, which made me very unhappy! In short, the accommodation experience of this hotel is very bad"

The Upham Hotel

The Upham Hotel ★★★★

📍 1404 De La Vina St, Santa Barbara

"Very nice hotel, there is a retro feeling, I like it very much!"

Casa Iglesia
9.8 (47 reviews)

Casa Iglesia ★★★★

📍 1915 Chapala St, Santa Barbara

"Casa Iglesia was absolutely wonderful! It was such a peaceful getaway. A few of my favorite highlights were the perfectly heated toilet seats and the gorgeous atrium—every morning, I’d grab a breakfast burrito from The Daily Grind around the corner, make a cup of Nespresso, and just hang out there enjoying the incredible vibes. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Across the road is the beach. It's estimated to be worth a thousand, or the house price of more than two thousand is not worth it. It's so small that I can't turn around, and it's hard to walk with two boxes in it. I guess Santa Barbara is relatively niche. Many accommodations are co-operated with Ctrip. In fact, the prices are not expensive and the appearance is better."

Hotel Californian Hotels in Santa Barbara

Hotel Californian

"The hotel is expensive, but the room is small, has no bathtub, and has no sea view. Most of the money is spent on the location and exquisite decoration. Hotel parking also costs money, and none of the services are provided for free, so a hotel that costs 7,700 to 8,000 or 8,000 per night is really not cost-effective. Of course, it also has a sense of history and design. It is true that many rich people live there, but if you want to truly enjoy the feeling of being rich, you'd better book a room for more than 10,000 yuan a night, otherwise you will regret throwing money away like me. Inside. Don't say that I am poor and have not seen the world. I moved out and lived in downtown Santa Barbara, LA and other places. There is no harm in not comparing. I can only say that you can stay here if you don’t mind the money. After all, it’s a luxury hotel and you won’t feel uncomfortable. But your little money can’t buy you elegance. Just don’t be fooled by Xiaohongshu’s sales like me."

Castillo Inn at the Beach Hotels in Santa Barbara

"Suitable for one night's stay. The room wasn't very well-ventilated and had a slight odor. The space was quite small, with limited room to move around. The bedding was okay; I liked that the bed wasn't too soft."

Oasis Inn and Suites ★★
"We would book this accommodation again if we were to travel to Santa Barbara again. There are many restaurants, a great bookstore (Chaucer's) and a large supermarket (Gelson's) directly across from the accommodation. The pool is not heated, which is really not necessary in the summer. In the morning, coffee and hot water for tea etc. is available at the reception."

Avania Inn of Santa Barbara ★★
"The location is very good, very close to the beach, and a few minutes walk to the pier. The fat white man at the front desk had a blank expression and was very rude. The other service staff were very friendly. Here comes the point. When the air conditioner is turned on, the air conditioner smells like a dead mouse. Then we tried to ask for a room change, and the front desk said it was full. But at night, I saw a sign at the door saying that there was a vacancy. Is this discrimination against Asians? The room hygiene will not help you clean if you get up late. I spent more than two thousand a night to stay here, which made me feel very bad."

The Upham Hotel ★★★★
"This is a garden-style hotel, the rooms are surrounded by the reception center, the green environment is eye-catching, and many flowers are in full bloom. The hotel should be old, all room facilities are old, but it is very easy to use. There is no food for breakfast, a few cakes, plus coffee and fruit, which is quite simple. It's an experience!"

"Spent a long weekend here and leaving was genuinely hard. The place has a real personality to it and the decor feels carefully curated without being overdone. It's one of those rare spots that naturally gets you out of your head and into vacation mode. Already planning a return trip."

"The hotel is in an awesome spot! You can walk everywhere and it’s in the heart of the Santa Barbara area. We loved the lobby and spent time there relaxing. Our only issue was that the room was never cleaned and we had to ask for towels and the trash to be emptied."
