This was our second stay at Aqua Azul la Villa, and it did not disappoint. That being said, I understand that most, if not all reviews are subjective, as we're all looking for our perfect oasis. Well, for us, this is the place. Aqua Azul provides the perfect balance, from all the amenities we can think off, the hosts Amy and Frank, to the spectacular views, location, (at least for us), beach chairs, shade umbrellas, and all the little extras that Amy provides. A light breakfast is provided each morning, and Amy was gracious enough to let us have ours a little earlier than the norm so that we could head out on our walk. Thank you! Amy is also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to local restaurants, entertainment, tours, beaches, and so on. If you don't have the What'sAp Ap on your phone it would be a good idea to download so that you do. Most of the taxi drivers and restaurants utilize this app to communicate, as does Amy, which is very helpful. There is also a great bookshelf in the common area where you may, or may not find something to read, if that's your thing. Oh, and lets not forget the access to an incredible beach just a short walk/hike away, maybe 10 minutes, really depends on the individual. The trail down to the beach is a little steep at the start, certainly not a deal breaker given the reward at the bottom. And although some guests found it a little easier than others, that didn't stop Frank from adding a length of rope at the top portion to help out those guests that may otherwise not of ventured down the trail. Thanks Frank. The rooms are perfect for us and provide everything we need, after all most of our time, outside of sleeping, is spend outdoors. Aqua Azul is a little ways out of town, about 7-8k, a relatively short cab ride. Cabs cost approximately 80-85 pesos into La Crucecita, or Santa Cruz areas, and it's best to ask before you get in. The Tangolunda area is closer, approximately 2.5k, you can cab it, or it's a nice walk earlier in the day, or just before sunset if you choose to do so. We walked a lot, pretty much every day, the area is very safe, sidewalk all the way to town, or if you like you can head the other way to La Boccana, another great spot with a couple of restaurants, beach to walk, and some surfing. This is where the Copalita river meets the ocean, lots of birds, and a really nice place to chill. We like the fact that we're not right in town, it can be very busy, and a little noisy at times, but if that's your thing, then go for it. But if you want the perfect blend of relaxation, beach access, quiet nights and stunning views then Aqua Azul is a great choice that won't disappoint. I know we'll be heading back for another visit at some point, and expect it to be no different than the first two adventures at Aqua Azul!
