"Location is everything with Hotel Pochote You are literally across the street from the best taco place in Mazunte, above a great ice cream place, colectivos stop at the front door, and all the places you want to go in town are a walk away. The rooms are large with very high ceilings – the bathroom and shower walls don’t reach the ceiling, so it does feel like you’re still in the same room with everyone while you’re in there. Staff was lovely... and did I mention the location?"

"We were lucky enough to be able to stay here over the busy Christmas holiday and loved it! It’s a long & amazing drive from Oaxaca city but we had the warmest & friendliest welcome by Memo who runs the beach houses. The cabana's are set facing the beach and the ocean; a gorgeous setting. Rooms are clean and spacious and each has a personal outside balcony or terrace to relax and just take it all in. Bambu has been thoughtfully designed and there are so many little touches that make it unique. Bambu does not offer a bar or breakfast service but there is a spacious shared kitchen with space in the fridges & lockers if you want. However, San Agustinillo has lots of small cafes & restaurants for those not interested in cooking! Outside areas are kept swept & clean and everyone worked to make this s wonderful stay. I have to make a special mention of Memo. His personal attention to his guests make this an outstanding place to stay. One of our party was unfortunately unwell and he looked after us so well. We are incredibly thankful to him for his help. San Agustinillo is a lovely beach area. The swimming was fabulous and there are plenty of chances to surf and snorkel. We also took a boat ride and we’re thrilled to catch whales, dolphins, manta rays, .. quite a sea safari! Thank you Bambu."

"Marcelo and the team at Casa Kalmar were extremely welcoming. The room was fantastic and the views spectacular. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious and authentic. The pool was lovely to relax and unwind in after a day at the beach (which is only a short walk away). There are plenty of local restaurants that are nearby, but staff at Casa Kalmar also helped us with delivery options. They also helped organise a massage on the terrace which was a lovely way to spend an afternoon."

"I spent five days at Casa Las Almas after Christmas and through New Year's with my partner and adult children. We occupied three of the Casitas at the property. This a beautiful small, boutique hotel up on the hill over looking the Mazunte beach. The property is compact, very nicely finished, very comfortable, with a great infinity pool and a competent restaurant and bar. Luigi and Fernando are the on-site property managers and they could not be more helpful, friendly and attentive. They make sure that one's stay is as pleasant as can possibly be. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, with very comfortable beds, great A/C and all the necessary amenities. It is important to note that there are a lot of stairs to get up to the rooms and pool area from the parking lot/hotel entrance so this is not a place if you need help walking/climbing stairs. We had a fantastic time at Casa Las Almas and can't wait to come back in the future!"

"It's completely different from the resort I imagined 👎 I won't go anymore. A taxi arrives at the hotel and arrives at the reception with a four-wheeled buggy repeating ups and downs. I think it's hard for the elderly. If you don't grab it properly, it will fall and I will arrive at night, so I'm tired. The room was a type in the forest, but the windows in the room are all screen doors because there is no glass. There was a wooden blind, and I opened the blinds because I wanted to get the light and air outside in the morning. I wanted to see the jungle outside. Then, at breakfast, the staff was told in a strong tone that if you open the blinds, turn off all the air conditioners. It is a steamy and hot climate. From there, ２ staying overnight became painful. Air conditioning is essential because it is hot during the day. But when you open the blinds, you will be angry because it will become a screen door. So I have to spend in a dark room 😡 The lighting is dark, so it's hard to find things at night or during the day. The staff doesn't speak much English. The Mexican style of breakfast was amazing. It takes a lot of time to check in. Next, it was too comfortable when I arrived at the ZOA Hotel 🥹"
