Lilium Santorini Hotel

The hotel is about one kilometer away from the town, and it is also along the coastline. Although the hotel has a regular shuttle bus to and from the hotel, it is also very comfortable to walk to the town. The hotel rooms are all facing the sea, lying on the bed to enjoy the beautiful Aegean sunset. The hotel is built along a steep slope southwest of the island, with three or four layers of staggered, white houses undulating along the mountain. First came to the 24-hour front desk, which is surrounded by swimming pools and infinite water features. The restaurant is fully transparent and has a view on all three sides. The room is also white, and there are private hot tubs in front of the room. The hot water is quite powerful, hot and hot. However, there is a lack of fresh water on the island, and tap water cannot be eaten and eaten!

We arrived earlier in the day & asked if we could do early check in. We were told that the room we have booked isn’t available early, so we could upgrade to another room & get early check in option. We agreed. When we checked in the room didn’t look like any upgrade, as it was pretty basic. Also, if these are how most of the rooms are, they aren’t great. The room had a stair to go ‘up’ where a tiny bed was places, and the ceiling was so low that even a 5-foot height tiny person like me would bump her head. The stairs aren’t too safe, so if you have to walk down in the middle of the night to use the bathroom below the bed area, you better be fully awake & cautious if your steps. Shower didn’t work properly with hot/cold water. I couldn’t wash my hair, had to quickly get out of the shower. I would have preferred, if they just told us there was an extra charge for early check in. In case I’m wrong, and this room was indeed an ‘upgrade’ then I don’t know what the basic room will be. Can’t imagine what would be even lesser. Maybe no window / balcony. The swimming pool was closed, probably because it was still cold when we went. The property looks nice though, it’s just 10 mins taxi ride from the city square. The rooms have a balcony & peaceful view as there aren’t too many buildings around. It’s quite & clean. Just that the rooms are too basic & the tiny bed in tiny space was uncomfortable for two people to sleep in. It was claustrophobic for me. Couldn’t sleep well, couldn’t bathe well. But I did enjoy sitting in the balcony & sipping my tea in peace.

this is a really great place to stay on Santorini. The construction is fascinating since the rooms are like caves in the side of the cliff, but there are windows, and there are patios with incredible views into the caldera and hot tubs outside. Staff was super friendly and helpful: special shout outs to Maria who could fix any situation and get good restaurant reservations for sunset views, Rani who carries heavy suitcases up and down the many stairs that lead to the hotel rooms (and does a wonderful job serving breakfast) and Evgeniya who cleaned our room. We had less contact with Vanessa and with Marios, but they also seemed to be great. Breakfasts are great (not buffets, prepared fresh). The one thing to know about this place is that it's a bit far from Fira town. Maybe a 45 minute walk along the side of a busy road....it's doable.

We received a warm welcome from Stefania on our arrival. She gave us lots of information and was helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in the luxury cave consisting of 3 rooms and a bathroom with air con, fridge & TV. Everywhere was kept clean and spotless throughout our stay. Swimming pool is deep and refreshing after a hot day sightseeing. The town of Messaria is a 10 walk downhill through the winding passage ways. From there you can get a bus for €1.60 to Fira. From Fira bus station you can take buses to all around the island. Stefania booked the Barbarossa Sailing Trip with Captain Marius for us. The scenery of Oia and Fira is stunning and fabulous to see it from the sea. We stopped for swimming and snorkeling, the Nea Kameni Volcano hot springs were amazing and afterwards a delicious hot lunch was provided. We had a fantastic time sailing around the Caldera. We highly recommend Rosetti Village for it's peaceful, central location and friendly, helpful & informative owner. Thank you Stefania.

Fab hotel with great service. The breakfast was delicious, so much to choose from👌 We booked a transfer from the airport through the hotel and this worked perfectly although we had a 4 hour delay. If you arrive after 11pm the resturant and bar is closed at the hotel and there is nothing near by to grab food or drink from. The free transfer to Fira worked really well for us. Drinks at the hotel are expensive and they only issue you 1 small bottle of water on arrival complimentary. I personal thought being a 5 star that tea, coffee, milk and water should have been provided but there is a lidl down the road to get supply's. Visiting the sister hotel opposite Volcano view is a must as the view from there are fabulous. We had a couple of very nice but expensive cocktails in there, but we'll worth it for the view at sunset. Both hotels lacked a vibe at night, although we went out of season so I am sure this isn't always the case. This was perfecf for us as we was wanting a relaxing break. Only criticism is that although we booked a triple room we only had 2 seats to sit outside. I had to ask twice for a second chair as it was taken away.

After having to leave some terrible accommodation we had booked for our 10th Wedding Anniversary late in the evening we luckily found the Amphitrite Suites and Chrysavgi. Chrysavgi saved us at 9pm and quickly checked us in to one of her beautiful immaculate hottub suites, saying sorry I couldn’t get completely clean in time she must have been joking! The room rate was half the cost of the original overpriced hellhole we had originally booked and came with a fantastically cooked local breakfast consisting of omelettes, breads, yoghurts and cakes which even managed to stretch out for lunch too! On our second night Chrysavgi moved us to a plunge pool suite which had an amazing view of Pyrgos and the sea and a lovely chill out lounge and kitchen. This amazing place only opened this year and really is a hidden treasure, thank you so much Chrysavgi for letting us stay at your amazing hotel
