Although the room was a bit dated, getting it for just over 400 during the off-season offered excellent value for money. The hotel's facilities and overall environment were still very good. Our butler, Kay, was incredibly thoughtful; she reached out to us in advance, upgraded us to a sea-view room, and even provided a complimentary fruit platter. I truly believe it was an excellent stay.

Every time I come to Sanya, I choose Guoguang Hotel. It holds so many wonderful memories for me and truly feels like a second home. This visit, I want to extend a special thank you to KAY from Guest Relations. He reached out to me even before my arrival to arrange a complimentary room upgrade and a welcome fruit platter. My stay has been delightful, and I will certainly be returning here on my next trip.

The hotel is beautiful and the pools is great although they need to open the rest of the pools for some reason closed which I thought was odd and the water slide was closed too odd? In the middle of the summer so~ the hotel staff, food, and room was excellent

To be honest, I usually don't like leaving negative reviews, but I genuinely feel the facilities here simply don't justify the price. The room had a musty smell, and even after we were moved to a different one, it was still far from satisfactory. The butler, to their credit, was quite attentive (my overall rating does factor in the decent butler service). They brought the room key to us and even helped deliver a fruit platter. However, as we arrived quite late and the hotel had a very high occupancy rate, there were no further options to switch rooms. We just had to tolerate it for one night. The next day, we moved to the hotel next door; it was cheaper, and we were very satisfied with the room there. The outdated facilities are a significant drawback. Also, I felt the room size wasn't consistent with what was advertised during booking; perhaps common areas were factored into the stated size. Furthermore, was this hotel really renovated in 2016? It certainly doesn't look like it, appearing so dated.

The high daily guest traffic alone speaks volumes about Guoguang's occupancy rate. Despite the crowds, their service capacity is excellent, a testament to its long-established five-star status. The location is also superb, just a 10-minute drive from Phoenix Airport, and the hotel's private access to the beach is incredibly convenient. We were choosing between two hotels and ultimately settled on Guoguang. For a week of dining, entertainment, and relaxation, Guoguang was absolutely perfect. A special thank you to our butler, KAY! Hearing we had a small child, she proactively upgraded us to a full sea-view room. Even with many guests, we arrived at noon and were able to check in almost instantly with virtually no wait. We will definitely choose to stay here again. Coincidentally, we experienced a stunning thunderstorm that very evening!

Knowing we had an early morning flight the next day, she thoughtfully brought cookies and fruits for our child. Although the room felt a bit dated, it was impeccably clean, certainly not as exaggeratedly poor as some online reviews claimed. The hotel's service was incredibly responsive, and there were plenty of excellent dining options nearby. Each bay in Sanya offers its own unique beauty. If we return to Sanya Bay in the future, we would definitely choose Guoguang again.

As an older hotel, the facilities are certainly a bit dated, but they are perfectly usable. Unfortunately, the fish spa wasn't open, and several pools, including the indoor one, were also closed during our stay. Cleanliness was generally satisfactory, although we did encounter ants in the room. They weren't usually visible, but would appear in swarms if any food crumbs were left behind. Keeping the room tidy and free of food should prevent this issue. We had no major complaints about the overall environment or the service. However, the room's soundproofing was poor, especially around the main entrance door, which had a noticeable gap at the bottom, allowing geckos to frequently make their way inside. It's a relatively budget-friendly hotel with convenient transportation links and supermarkets close by.

Despite its good reputation, our experience was poor. Check-in was slow for foreign guests. Breakfast was chaotic, overcrowded, with tables placed in the ballroom, limited food options, and spills on the carpets. The broken coffee machine caused long queues. Pools looked nice but were inaccessible. The kids' pool had restricted hours. The room was decent but had a moldy smell. Overcrowded and poorly managed. Very disappointing.

hotel is clean and have nice location. good activies choices for family. start to get a bit old but still in correct shape. many staff to help out

This room is 90 degrees sea view , not bad at all , the only thing that was quiète disturbing was the bathroom had an open to the room … but hospitality was what marks you from the employees in this resort and whenever you call them to ask for more water or more towels or even to clean another time the room they are quickly responding , enjoyed the stay and planning another return soon with friends and delegates … recommend the hotel and also the area surrounding the hotel isn’t bad at all …

Pros: Prime location. Only 10mins away to the airport. Big hotel with a nice swimming pool and a field. Most rooms have a seaview. Cons: Rooms are quite old. There was a ball of hair and dust on the floor. Breakfood food was not very good.

All kids activities are limited and have payment 🤑

Well located, views from the balcony is great if you choose the water front rooms, however, distance from the lift or lobby is too far away.

Excellent resort with a super garden and wonderful big swimming pool.
