Golden Phoenix Sea View Hotel

Our stay was wonderful! The hotel's location is fantastic, with a swimming area to the left and Haiyue Plaza to the right. It's incredibly convenient to go for a swim or watch the sunrise. The beach is just across the street, and Coconut Dream Corridor is within walking distance, perfect for capturing those amazing sunset vibes.

The room was clean and tidy, and the balcony had a great view. The lobby staff were also very welcoming. Overall, I'm very satisfied and recommend it.

The guest rooms are decent, with a practical layout and slightly upscale toiletries in individual boxes, including small bottles of shampoo and body wash – a thoughtful touch for sustainability. The breakfast offers a wide variety of local dishes, typical of a Hainan star-rated hotel, and booking a room with breakfast is definitely a pleasant surprise. There's a free outdoor parking lot, and entry/exit is also free. A KFC and supermarket are nearby, and Sanya Bay No.1 is not far ahead. Food delivery by robot is also available, making it very convenient. This established hotel offers excellent value for money and a very reasonable price. The view was quite ordinary, and the service was very poor. We had to carry our own luggage from the car and push it to the room ourselves. Although the room had air conditioning and a dehumidifier running, there was a musty smell. We were given a very low floor with no sea view outside the window, and it was quite noisy as it was close to the pool.

The staff were friendly and efficient with check-in, and any requests were handled promptly. In my free time, I'd go downstairs for a stroll along the shore, then return to the room to quietly enjoy the sunset over the sea, with the ocean breeze on my face – the ambiance was perfect. Dining options around the hotel are convenient. Overall, it provided a wonderful vacation vibe and is an excellent base for a beach trip. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely choose this place again for my next seaside getaway.

Most room types come with balconies, and higher floors offer expansive ocean views, allowing you to see the sea right from your bed. The third-floor rooftop pool is a highlight, facing the bay directly, perfect for photos, and offers a wonderful ambiance for sunset viewing. 2. Comprehensive facilities. There's a gym, children's play area, and laundry room, making it suitable for family travel. Rooms are spacious, bedding is comfortable, and the overall cleanliness is good. 3. Outstanding value for money. Compared to high-end resorts in Yalong Bay, the price is much more friendly, balancing resort relaxation with urban convenience. You don't have to stay confined to the hotel; you can easily go out to eat and shop. 4. Concierge service is quite good, with convenient luggage assistance and storage. ⚠️ Minor drawbacks to note 1. The hotel is next to a main city road, so lower-floor rooms facing the street may experience traffic noise. It's recommended to prioritize higher floors; closing the windows significantly improves the situation. 2. Hotel facilities show some age, and some bathroom designs are mediocre. The breakfast variety isn't extensive, and there are fewer specialty dishes. 3. Before coming to Sanya, I had high expectations for the Golden Phoenix, but my actual stay was very disappointing! The first two days I stayed at Novotel (I have actual booking records!), and the environment was excellent. The drop in quality when I switched to the Golden Phoenix was quite significant! First off, the sink design is very impractical; no matter how you use it, water splashes everywhere, and the counter is always wet. The vanity mirror is also terrible; it's not clear at all, and looking into it for too long makes you dizzy. Our room was right next to the elevator, and the soundproofing was extremely poor. You could hear people walking by the door, and at 12 AM, someone was talking on the phone outside, making it impossible to sleep! Outside is Haiyue Plaza, and the traffic noise at night is very loud. The balcony door's soundproofing is also very bad! The hotel breakfast selection is limited, with fewer Chinese options and no Sanya-specific breakfast, so I wouldn't recommend it. The complimentary fruits from the hotel were apples, pears, and oranges. Overall, they tasted bad; the apples and oranges were very sour! Finally, the concierge service was quite good; they helped us with our luggage when we checked out.
