First, the hotel name “Four Seasons” is misleading. This property is not affiliated with the Four Seasons luxury group and should change its name. Guests expect a true five star hotel, while the reality is closer to a three star property. The building is old and clearly needs renovation, despite what the photos suggest.
The main issue is the reception. Staff does not speak English, and communication is extremely difficult.
One evening around 11 pm, we ordered McDonald’s delivery and waited at the reception as indicated in the app. We saw the courier enter a service entrance briefly and the order was marked as “Delivered”. When we asked the reception for help, using a translator and showing the app in Chinese, we were told “this is not McDonald’s” and sent to pick up the order ourselves. We had to run to the McDonald’s before closing. The manager there confirmed the food had been delivered to the hotel and even called the reception. Only then did the receptionist give us our order and show us a delivery locker near the elevators. This could have been solved immediately, with basic communication.
Other negative points, no double glazing, traffic noise at night, unpleasant smell near the kitchen, average food, coffee machines often broken, outdated gym, not enough sun loungers at the pool, ice cream vending machine at the entrance not working, and Trip.com gifts such as vouchers or photo sessions are not recognized by the hotel.
Positive points, spacious rooms, comfortable bed (but uncomfortable pillows), balcony bathtub, free safe, hair dryer and iron, friendly housekeeping staff, four 500 ml bottles of water provided daily, and free washing machines.
Conclusion
At this stage, we do not recommend this hotel, unless major improvements are made, especially a name change, better renovation, and a truly international reception staff. This hotel may suit Russian guests or travelers on a limited budget.
