Citizen. After more than a decade, I returned to Sanya. After much deliberation, I chose the Voco Grand Sanya in Dadonghai, which balances scenic beauty and convenience.
**Room:**
Although the room is small and lacks a bathtub, three main advantages gradually emerged during my stay. Firstly, the air conditioning is powerful and stable, easily combating direct sunlight without automatically setting the temperature too high when no one is detected in the room. Secondly, the room lighting is sufficiently bright, which is eye-friendly for guests who need to spend long hours in front of a screen. Last but not least, I really liked how the eaves of the ninth-floor room framed the view, making the scenery outside the window appear like a 3D movie, captivating and unforgettable, as shown in the picture. If you don't like the eaves and prefer a more open view, you can request a room on a floor other than the ninth.
**Environment:**
By not being in the first row facing the sea, the hotel gains tranquility. You can walk to the beach by passing through another hotel, which took me 14 minutes – quite convenient. It's also a 20-minute walk to the center of the Dadonghai commercial district, where you'll find chain beverage shops like Starbucks, Luckin Coffee, and DQ, along with many restaurants. The bustling commercial scene is a major advantage of Dadonghai.
**Dining:**
The breakfast is above average. With a few local snacks added, it would be on par with five-star hotels. For example, only hot milk is available, not cold, making it impossible to make iced coffee on such a hot day. I had dinner once and ordered two dishes; the taste was very ordinary.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied. As a 4.5-star hotel under the IHG brand, Voco Grand Sanya can be described as a 'well-rounded' player among Sanya hotels, excellent in all aspects. Its advantages, such as a laundry room and bright lighting, make it particularly suitable for travelers who need to work or read and spend a lot of time in the hotel.

Guest UserMy overall experience at the Sanya Bay voco this time was pretty good. The check-in process at the front desk was smooth, and if I had any questions, Gavin was always quick to respond. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable to sleep in, though being close to the road meant occasional traffic noise. The hotel is very close to the beach, making it convenient for a walk to catch the sunset. The public areas are well-maintained, and the pool environment is nice. The breakfast selection was sufficient, and you could find some Hainanese specialties as well. The location for a vacation is a big plus, and getting around by taxi is easy. Overall, it's a decent resort hotel – nothing exceptionally stunning, but nothing major to complain about either. It's a good option if you're staying in the Sanya Bay area.
