"The bed was very comfortable, and it felt like a relaxing vacation. I could see the sunset from the room. There was a swimming pool and bar on the top floor of the 19th floor. It was full of Europeans and Americans, so I didn't dare to go in the water. The shrimp skewers in the hotel restaurant were delicious, but the onion soup was too salty. Overall, it was a good hotel with high comfort and good location."

"I spent two days in this hotel and that's already far too much. Apart from a new fridge, the room is not in good condition, you can hear the TV from the next room, and worst of all, the air conditioning makes a terrible noise. I asked the front desk to do something about the AC noise, but the hotel had no one available to look at the problem (at 4pm). In any case, the air conditioning is mounted on the exterior wall of the room, the wall is wooden, so everything vibrates - it's awful. On top of that, I was surprised to see my $150 deposit charged and it was only refunded after 8 days and after contacting the hotel several times."

"******* *** **************** ***：**** Room 221 Dear Trip.com Supervisor, I chose La Quinta because I have had very good experiences in different parts of the country. This La Quinta, in downtown Sarasota, is the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There was no notice, but they are under construction on the lobby level. The elevator was not working on Saturday. The room furnishings were very worn. The headboard had a small red stain on it and the sheets had a small hole. The table lamp bases were rusted, the lamp shades had bare spots, the microwave was disgusting (unsure weather it was food splatter or burned plastic interior), the refrigerator had rust on the entire outside of the appliance. There was a roach in the room, but I am not surprised since it is Florida. In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder was hanging onto the wall by only a hope. The toilet paper would easily fall off and onto the pitted tile floor. The bathtub had mold on the outside by the floor, and rust above the shower head. The shower stream was extremely weak. The water was hot though, that was a plus. The bath towels seemed new and were very nice. The sink in the entry had a hot water faucet that could s*** past the off position. This room, in the shape it was in, should not have been $200 per night! The most would be $60. It was very disappointing for a La Quinta. I consider the brand a risk now, whereas before I would search them out for my stay. I would have cancelled immediately, but the policy on Trip.com does not allow cancellations. I am asking for a refund of $200 and hope when you see the attached pictures, you will agree. Thank you for your help and attention to my concerns. Amy Polizzi"

"Overall, the room was quite nice, with an owl-themed design. It was clean and hygienic, and the front desk staff were friendly and patient. The breakfast was unique and tasty. The hotel also provides shuttle vans within a 5km radius; you can book the time in advance at the front desk. The driver, an elderly gentleman, was very kind. The only drawback of the hotel was the air conditioning. The Sarasota Hotel's air conditioning is a ground-mounted unit, so the air blows upwards. Perhaps the equipment is a bit old, but every time it started cooling, it sounded like a construction site machine suddenly turning on ⚙️—quite noisy. I woke up several times on the first day when it started. On the second day, I don't know if I was tired, but I only heard it once throughout the night. I hope they can upgrade the air conditioning equipment; that would be much better."
