Terra - the Magic Place

Every aspect of out stay was outstanding: warm welcome, luxurious mountain-view suite with a comfortable bed, a unique and delicious local tasting menu that exceeded all expectations (conception to execution), incredible breakfast, and top hiking trails that leave right from the inn. Deserves three Michelin stars!

Food is exquisit, wine pairing is the best I've ever had world wide. What I would suggest is the quality of the rooms can be better, the bathroom was great but if the rooms would be a bit more exclusive and redecorated/new interior maybe with fire place, because of the incredible view into the woods it could be a even more luxurious place. Not much of a change is needed... everything else is a dream!

Came for New Year’s. Staff is warm and attentive. Accommodations were modern and cozy. Loved the spa, which is brand new. The restaurant is unbelievable. Four meals there and four different experiences. Super well-located for hikes. Special mention for the delicious pasta that was prepared for us when we arrived between lunch and dinner. Highest recommendation for Terra!

We stayed here before the Pandemic and loved it so much we booked again three times (but had to cancel due to Covid outbreaks) before we finally made it back this summer. We were on the Romantic plan which included among other things a superior room, full breakfast and gourmet dinners each night of our stay. The room was spacious, well furnished with a comfortable king bed, plenty of closet and shelf space. The bathroom too was well appointed with an excellent shower. The meals were to die for. Chef Schneider has two Michelin stars and deserves a third. Ducasse, Boulud and Vongerichten are great chefs but in our opinion Chef Schneider is better. As important to us as room and dining is Terra’s service under the careful and hospitable watch of Gisela Schneider who is Host and co-sommelier. Suffice it to say, we plan to return next summer. At first sight, Terra seems well situated but somewhat understated. It's easy to be fooled by the attractive but modest exterior and lobby. Terra's magic lies not only in its beautiful setting but also in a wide range of details that reflect its family ownership and the attention to detail. The food is exquisite -- a delicious and entertaining combination of textures and flavours. It takes several days to work your way through the different breakfast options. The same can be said of dinners -- we had tasting menus on three nights, for a total of about twenty courses, and there were no real misses. The wine pairings were excellent. All in all, quite an experience. Gisela's recommendations for daytime activities were complete hits with our group. There are many other great things to say about Terra; they've been said by other reviewers. For me, the most striking and wonderful aspect was the family atmosphere that permeates Terra. Eleven rooms is enough to have a variety of guests, but not so many that the personal touch is lost. We had a magical time. I recommend it without hesitation.

Terra is a dream! Its location is stunning, staff is wonderful, rooms are very large and very clean, and the spa is blissful. It is right in the middle of several hiking trails as well that can be accessed just by walking outside. It doesn’t get much better than that in my book for a perfect getaway. We wanted a way to visit the Dolomites from the US and landed on Terra due to its convenient location from Bolzano which is easily accessible from other large Italian cities. After viewing the website we were sold and based our 10-day Italy trip around our visit to Terra. It was totally worth it and completely lives up to its website and beyond. Thank you Gisela!

We had a wonderful stay. Warm welcome, luxury wellness, epic dinner with local products and excellent breakfast. This all combined with an overall feeling of calm & quietness. Absolute recommendation.

I lack the language to describe our level of satisfaction from this place and especially from the meal in the restaurant it was the best meal we ever ate, the chef is an amazing humble and nice man every bite was an experience in itself, I can not understand how it is that the restaurant does not yet have three Michelin stars
