DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Savannah Historic District

I like most of the doubletree hotels, but this one was better than most.

Overall satisfying: in historical district, near river and all pubs, while the AC is too noisy that I cannot fall asleep

This is a beautiful property located in a fantastic location. The only thing that was a bit aggravating was that our room faced the street and you can hear really loud traffic starting at around 4am. We wore earplugs the second night so it was okay. Overall that wouldn’t deter me from staying at this hotel again. It has a beautiful lobby, the rooms were nice (big fluffy towels, Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries) and the location can’t be beat.

I extended my stay for an additional day and the staff was very helpful with allowing me stay in the same room instead of moving.

What can I say about this place, except to warn everyone to stay away! There are tons of other places nearby that you can stay at and never regret your stay. An old building, super dirty room and hallways, 2 very very old elevators (occasional wait time up to 10 mins) and unbelievably bored/angry/checked-out staff especially at the check-in counter. I was in Savannah for a conference and the first two days, I got to stay at homewoods suites which was superb compared to this place! Seriously, stay away and don't ruin your vacation! Pool is on the second floor, not heated and very dirty (in my first hotel, the heated pool was on the top floor fully served). Also, there is NO hot breakfast cooked to order; you will get coupons for buffet which has literally nothing better that typical american breakfast places you can book for a third of the price! My very honest opinion.

Best service we’ve ever had. Always stay at this location cause it’s close to City Market And River Street. Valets were great!!

The hotels location is great and the atmosphere of the lobby is inviting. I would say that it seems like the hotel is close to needing a remodel/refresh. The room was comfortable and clean though. The view out of the room was of the street and nothing to write home about. we were on the fifth floor and the noise from the street was very loud. They did have a sound machine in the room, which was very helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was not good at all and was $18 a person for the buffet. Definitely would not recommend eating there when there are so many places nearby that are very good.

Location in historic area was good. Was surprised at parking expense - valet only. Facilities were on par with other hotels. Free morning coffee! Lovely lounge area behind the lobby. Not quiet as truck traffic all night was as if the windows were open.
