Scenic Hotels in Columbia-Shuswap

"I enjoyed my stay at the Stoke Hotel. The room was comfortable, I was beside the laundry/maintenance room and noticed some noise during the day but not in the evenings or nights, it never bothered me. My room was adjacent to the hot tub and I did hear some loud good times but it didn't bother me and it was quiet by bedtime. Breakfast had so much selection. Waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, apples, grapefruit, oranges, muffins, bagels, and various breads and cookies. The hot foods are alternated, just so many options, it was fantastic and made for slow mornings sometimes. The breakfast staff were welcoming, great at stocking up and tidying up. The mornings were very enjoyable. The bus shuttle stop was nearby and the front desk gave bus vouchers when I asked. There was also a free shuttle service downtown, to the Regent Hotel, just a matter of requesting after 5:30pm. Staff were friendly, the premises were clean, my room and bed were comfy. Had a great stay even though it was not downtown and I didn't have a car. Denny's, McDonald's, tim Hortons and a&w are in walking distance. Good location and comfortable stay."

"Absolutely stunning view. Cabin was older but very charming, we made the most of the fireplace in the room and enjoyed a view of the lake from our balcony. Bathroom was clean with everything we needed. Coffee also provided in the room which was nice. I read the beds were uncomfortable on other reviews and I’d partially agree - not the best but again not the main reason or expectation for visiting emerald lake. I will say the pillows were extremely thin and uncomfortable.  Staff were very friendly and attentive. Shuttle service was easy. Restaurant was pricey but overall good. No wifi or signal in the room is something to be aware of, but heightened the experience in my opinion. Overall, great!"

"I had a fantastic stay at Fairfield Hotel! The highlight for me was the breathtaking mountain view from my room—absolutely stunning. The staff was incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The room itself was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities you could ask for. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the breakfast spread was a great way to start the day. Definitely a place I’d return to, especially for that amazing mountain view!"

"What a wonderful unique experience. The setting around the lake was beautiful. We appreciated that all rooms face the lake. We enjoyed the amenities, the restaurant and Games area. We would recommend that everyone take the time to tour Ghost Town....sharing the history of the area. It was incredible....loved the train museum! Had a great stay!"

"When I checked in a 'security' deposit was taken from my credit card without my knowledge or my approval. I only found out because my bank always sends me a SMS message when my card is used. It's a very long time since I stayed in a hotel which requires a deposit. I checked out last week and the deposit has now been returned. We stayed in the block behind the main building. It was a motel style room with car parking outside. The room was clean and everything worked. The beds were comfortable and there wasn't much noise from the road. Breakfast was basic, with little choice. It felt like everything was done to keep the cost down. Hilltop Inn is a cheap hotel. You get what you pay for. I will probably dig a little deeper next time I stay in Salmon Arm and stay across the road at the Fairfield."

"Adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway so getting back on our drive from Banff to Vancouver was very convenient. Salmon Arm is about halfway to Vancouver or Banff and this makes the motel a perfect overnight stop. The bedroom is separated by a wall from the dining table, fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom is very clean and you can park in front of your own room. Checking in and out took no time at all. The owners are very friendly. "

"Great place to spend the evening while travelling through. I liked the idea of the indoor swimming pool to unwind after a long drive, but there was LOTS of families staying in the hotel and LOTS of kids so that didnt happen. But for the price, the room was great!"

"The hotel is quite dated and needs some tlc to bring it up to the standard we were expecting. Unfortunately every door needs re painting and the fact that this is left for guests to see demonstrates some lack of care. The two bedroomed family suite was supposed to have Air Conditioning, but in one bedroom this was completely broken and in the other the unit was merely a fan (NOT air conditioning as described) which you couldn’t switch off, so was noisy all night. Breakfast was very basic and the tiny room where this was served completely inadequate for the number of guests in the hotel - who had to queue to get in. We resorted to eating in our rooms as there was no space to sit down there. The pool was quite nice but small."
