"Facilities: I booked a room with a view, and when I arrived, the owner even helped me find a parking spot. The room was directly facing the snow-capped mountains and had a small balcony where I could relax. I could see the snowy peaks without even leaving the room. When I arrived in the afternoon, there was a beautiful sunset glow. Hygiene: Very clean and looked quite new. Even though it was on the top floor, the underfloor heating was very powerful, so I didn't feel cold at all. The small restaurant downstairs had pretty good food, or you could go to the Feilai Temple street for hotpot. Overall, the experience was quite good. Recommended! 👍"

"The facilities are complete and new, with underfloor heating and oxygen supply, and it's very clean. If you arrive by bus, the hotel offers a shuttle service from the drop-off point, and the service is impeccable. It's highly recommended for watching the sunrise over the ”Golden Mountain” at Feilai Temple. You can directly photograph the stunning ”Golden and Silver Mountains” from the hotel's fourth-floor terrace in the morning and evening. If it gets cold, you can just step into the cafe for a hot tea, avoiding the crowds and shivering at the observation deck. It's a fantastic experience. (For room types, the right-side rooms on the third floor are more recommended, as there's a red light sign opposite that stays on, which might affect your view of the ”Silver Mountain” at night.)"

"Awesome place! The concierge was super helpful in both picking us up from the bus station and navigating the Meili area. The facilities are very nice, extremely comfortable and great vibes. Good views of a temple and mountains opposite Meili. Perfect mattresses and the best rain shower head I have ever used in my life."

"Wow! Words cannot really describe how wonderful this place is. We took the bus from Shangrila and the hotel picked us up at a designated spot for a quick 5 minute drive through some of the most spactacular mountain sunset views. Check in was quick, easy and within minutes we were shown to our room. The room was huge with a floor to ceiling window facing Meili Mountain, a bathtub and projector with huge screen. The sofa was so big I began to think it was a bed. The shower and toilet were spotlessly clean with beautiful large warm towels as well as some quality toiletries and bathrobes. The bedroom was well appointed with very large bed, writing desk and a good oxygen supply. The whole place had underfloor heating which was super comfortable. This little hotel has a rooftop bar/cafe with the most spectacular views. Drinks range from tea and coffee to some cocktails all of which are served with snacks by a very pleasant young man. He was super helpful each time we visited the bar and even made sure the stove was well stocked with logs on the night we wanted to stay late to see the stars. We had local breakfast at the hotel each morning which was of excellent quality and very filling. We also had our evening meals at the hotel and the quality was excellent with great flavour and variety. The staff are all super helpful and were able to recommend some local spots to visit as well as arrange a car to Feilai Temple and a car to take us back to Shangrila for a great price. The whole experience at Deqen Meili GY Banshan Homestay made me wish I had booked more nights. It was the highlight of my trip to Yunnan and I will definitely stay here again next time. I can highly recommend and I miss it so much!"

"The hotel's location is excellent; you can watch the sunrise over the golden mountains right from your bed. There's also an observation deck on the fourth floor. The service is incredibly thoughtful; they arranged a car to pick us up from the bus stop, and when we arrived, they even offered us brown sugar ginger tea and snacks. Highly recommend!"

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is perfectly situated in town, offering breathtaking views right from our room (for sunset and sunrise see photos). The location alone makes it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The owner even parked our car right in front of the hotel. Even though we don’t speak Chinese, communication was smooth thanks to a translation app. Their hospitality truly stood out, and we appreciated their warm and accommodating attitude. The only downside was that our room was quite cold until the heating started working in the evening. Overall, despite this small issue, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a scenic and welcoming place to stay in the Meili Snow Mountains!"

"The location is superb, offering a direct view of Mount Kawagebo from the room. The rooftop view is unbeatable and even provides a phone stand, so you can enjoy the mountain scenery morning and evening without having to go downstairs and squeeze with crowds at an observation deck. The hotel has underfloor heating and a humidifier, so it wasn't cold sleeping at night. Breakfast and afternoon tea were abundant. The owner is very welcoming. Highly recommend, I'll choose this place again in the future! I got to see the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' as I wished, and I hope everyone gets what they wish for too."

Before we set off, we prepared meticulously to admire the sacred mountain, yet we never anticipated that my friend's altitude sickness would suddenly worsen in the dead of night. At 3:30 AM, everything was silent, the cold of the plateau seeped into our bones, and the empty streets felt unnerving. Seeing my friend's rapid breathing and pale face, and with all ride-hailing apps unresponsive, despair descended like a thick fog. In a panic, I tremblingly dialed the front desk. The voice on the other end wasn't one of sleepy annoyance, but a clear, steady one. I incoherently explained the situation, and before I could finish, I heard a decisive response: ”Don't worry, I'll contact a car right away!” There wasn't a hint of hesitation, as if ensuring the guests' well-being was her natural wakefulness in the middle of the night. Less than ten minutes later, she came to our room to inform us, having asked a familiar driver to set off immediately, repeatedly reminding him to ”drive steadily.” When the car's headlights cut through the darkness and stopped at our door, our hearts, which had been suspended in an ice cellar, finally returned to a warm embrace. After returning from the emergency room, with my friend stable, we still didn't want to miss our rendezvous with Meili Snow Mountain's sunrise. However, after witnessing the breathtaking golden sunrise, how to catch our pre-booked bus became another challenge. I contacted the owner again, and he still didn't try to shirk responsibility, promptly confirming the quickest solution for us. When we dragged our luggage downstairs, he was already waiting at the door. Seeing our hurried expressions, he immediately took the heaviest suitcase without a word: ”Get in, I'll take you, quickly!” The streets were bustling with traffic in the early morning, and time was ticking away. Looking at the congested road ahead, the owner was even more anxious than we were. At a fork in the road, he suddenly braked, turned around, and decisively said, ”It's completely blocked ahead, this way through here is the fastest!” With that, he actually picked up our large suitcase, started walking, and 'ran' to clear a path for us through the clear, crisp morning light of the plateau and the crisscrossing alleys. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, but his steps were swift and firm, and he occasionally turned back to urge us: ”Follow me, we'll make it!” That scene was like the most moving chapter in a silent film – a stranger's full effort, solely to ensure the smooth progress of two travelers. Only after seeing us safely seated and our luggage properly stowed did he wipe his brow with a sigh of relief, standing outside the car window, flashing us a simple smile, and waving goodbye. The bus pulled away, and the snow-capped mountains gradually receded into the sky. My friend and I exchanged silent glances, but the surging warmth in our hearts spoke more than a thousand words. We have stayed in many hotels that boast ”service first” and experienced refined yet routine care, but never before have we so genuinely felt what it means to be ”entrusted with life's profound weight and unwavering sincerity.” The rooms in this hotel may not have luxurious decorations, but the kindness and responsibility that flow here are the most brilliant gold in the world. It is not just a stop on a journey, but in a distant land, a trust worthy of safety, a warm current offering help in times of need. "The quality of a hotel is judged not only by its service during smooth times, but also by its attitude when problems arise. During my stay, we experienced unstable voltage, but the hotel's handling of the situation was exemplary! From the speed of response and efficiency in resolving the issue to the sincere communication, everything was impeccable. Minor imperfections in the facilities are inevitable, but such attentive and considerate service is rare. Kudos to their professionalism and sincerity! (The unstable voltage caused elevator malfunctions, and the staff proactively helped everyone in each room with their luggage.)"

"Coming to see the Meili Snow Mountain, I chose this guesthouse. It has a Tibetan-style decor that feels very high-end. The landlady was also warm and hospitable. In the morning, she drove me to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight' (Rizhao Jinshan), and when I left, she even drove me to the bus stop. It's really hard to find a taxi near Feilai Temple. The food was just okay, enough to fill you up, but you can't expect too much when you're on a mountain. The accommodation itself was very satisfying, with a private small balcony which was really lovely. I was so lucky to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight' this time. Wishing everything goes smoothly in 2026, and I hope the landlady's business prospers!"
