"Out of all my travels in China, this was hands down the BEST hotel I’ve stayed at—and that’s saying a lot. From the moment we arrived, the level of warmth and genuine care from every single staff member stood out immediately. The front desk team was incredible—friendly, patient, and impressively multilingual, which made everything so much easier since my Chinese is limited. But what really made this place unforgettable were the people behind the scenes. The aunties who cleaned our rooms were honestly some of the kindest, most thoughtful people we encountered on our trip. They didn’t just do their job—they went above and beyond in ways that made us feel truly cared for. The kitchen staff were just as amazing. Every interaction felt warm and sincere. They even folded our laundry when we accidentally keft it in the dryer. And let’s talk about the breakfast—phenomenal. Not only was the quality outstanding, but the menu changed daily, which kept things exciting. If you’re debating whether to add breakfast to your stay… just do it. The overall vibe of the hotel is serene, peaceful, and elevated—it genuinely feels like a 5-star experience. And it always smells nice. Location-wise? 10/10. You’re within walking distance of many of Guilin’s main attractions, and right outside the entrance is a lively night market and shopping area. It’s the kind of convenience you don’t fully appreciate until you have it. I was booking for my family, which included three seniors, so my priorities for hotels were: location, cleanliness, safety, and accessibility. This hotel checked every single box—and then exceeded expectations in ways I didn’t even anticipate. If you’re considering where to stay in Guilin, pick this one 10/10. "The environment is quite good, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is delicious 😋, I especially love the Guilin rice noodles for breakfast. The room isn't big but it's well-designed. The bathroom is a bit small, so they used a diagonal sliding door, and a mirror next to the toilet visually expands the space. The shower has an overhead rain shower, which is quite hygienic. It's right next to榕湖 (Rong Lake), and I took a stroll to the spot where Huang Tingjian moored his boat at night. The lighting was magical, almost like a game – but I'm getting sidetracked! Overall, the surrounding environment is very pleasant and quiet."

"The hotel's location is pretty good, very close to the scenic area, just a few minutes drive away. My friends and I came to Guilin for a trip and after comparing several hotels, we decided on this one. It exceeded our expectations! The dry and wet separation design is very thoughtful, and the mattress is just right – not too soft, not too hard. I had a great night's sleep and felt refreshed. They also have a self-service laundry room, which is super convenient for lazy people like us, haha. The snacks and coffee in the lobby are good too!"

With a view right outside the window, stepping downstairs transports you into a picturesque scroll of mountains and rivers – distant peaks like painted brows, nearby waters hazy with mist, and swirling clouds that make you feel like you've entered an ink-wash fairyland. Choosing this place meant even a rainy day became a rare and beautiful experience. What was even more delightful was the hotel's service. The one-on-one butler was thoughtful and meticulous, ensuring everything ran smoothly from check-in to check-out. In the morning, that authentic bowl of Guilin rice noodles, with its rich卤香 (lu xiang - savory braised flavor), left a lasting impression. The room facilities were comprehensive, and the cleanliness was impeccable. This trip's perfect experience was set from the moment I first gazed out the window at the stunning view. Waking up in a misty haze and falling asleep surrounded by mountains and rivers – I wholeheartedly recommend this Guilin to anyone yearning for a poetic escape."

"This is a truly heartfelt five-star review. My Guangxi trip lasted half a month, with Guilin as the final stop. After considering several hotels, I ultimately chose the Gangshe Hotel. Although my stay was brief, only one day, I was extremely satisfied with the hotel, and a five-star rating is well-deserved. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Elephant Trunk Hill Park, East West Alley, and the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, all within walking distance. Staying here allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery and delicious food while avoiding the noise and crowds. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. However, these aren't the main highlights. The hotel's greatest feature is its genuine service. While no hotel is perfect, sincere service truly stands out. From the moment I entered, the lovely lady at the front desk provided full-service assistance, from check-in to personally accompanying me and my luggage to my room. During this time, she thoroughly explained the room's facilities and, via WeChat, provided detailed information about nearby attractions and dining options. The service was incredibly thoughtful. Upon check-out, it was raining heavily in Guilin. The front desk lady helped me hail a taxi and assisted with loading my luggage. She also sincerely inquired about my stay experience, seeking feedback for improvement. This dedication reflects the hotel staff's genuine commitment to both the hotel and its guests. With such excellent employees and high-quality service, the hotel is sure to grow even more and attract a greater number of visitors. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Guilin. "We had a beautiful stay at Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, well equipped with everything we needed - fresh water and towels everyday, option to chose between Chinese and Western breakfast and delicious fruits. Xiaoming was so nice to give us the e-bikes to drive around Guilin for free and we enjoyed using them a lot! If we had any questions about the area or needed a ticket for the li yang river cruise he immediately took care of it for us. We had also had a pickup from the train station so we didn’t need to find the way to the resort on our own. It was a wonderful stay. Thanks so much from the young German man, who looks like an old German man and his girlfriend ☀️"

"The hotel is pretty good, close to all the attractions. There are electric scooters right outside the entrance, you can just scan one and go everywhere. However, be careful where you park it; it must be in the designated area. I, for one, forgot to park it in the designated area and got fined! The owner also gave us recommendations for nearby attractions, which was a nice touch!"

"I had a great time at this hotel. The location is great next to a shopping street and the room was beautiful and was kept very clean. The hotel staff were very accommodating and helped me plan an amazing overnight trip to Yangshuo. I’d high recommend this place to anyone traveling in Guilin/Yangshuo! I’d recommend riding around the city with the rental e-scooters and taking a river cruise to spend the night in Yangshuo while you’re here (you won’t regret it)"

"We booked the Elegant Duplex for 2 adults and 2 teens but it was rather inconvenient as there was only 1 wash basin at a tiny corner (see pic) and the bathroom didn't have any dry area to place clothes to change into hence it was quite unpleasant for us so we asked to change room as we had booked for 3 nights. The receptionist recommended us 2 separate rooms with a top up of RMB 300+ but the owner was kind enough to move us to a 2 bedroom annex with a proper bathroom which was available the next day for free! We are very thankful for her kindness. The service staff all speaks good English. Breakfast was a simple set- western or Chinese. The view outside the hotel is really beautiful (see pic) and we love the cycling path just outside the hotel."

"The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities, as the pictures prove. The room is located on the banks of the Li River; near East-West Alley, the Central Square, and Guangxi Normal University, adjacent to the Jingwang Mansion. The night view from Xiaoyao Pagoda is quite nice. Strolling along the Li River and Jiefang Bridge at night offers a unique and beautiful experience, allowing your mood to soar with the surrounding environment. The Seven Star Scenic Area features calligraphy inscriptions by historical figures, Elephant Trunk Hill Park, and the riverside scenery of Yangshuo, perfect for nature photography enthusiasts. Local cuisine, represented by restaurants like Gouweiwang and Agan Hotel, mainly focuses on fish. Breakfast includes rice noodles with braised sauce and glutinous rice – every restaurant has a great flavor, you can't go wrong. I don't usually like rice noodles, but this time I'm completely obsessed with them. If I don't eat rice noodles every morning, I feel uncomfortable – look at me! I hope everyone can experience the beauty of the Li River, where humanity and nature complement and adapt to each other without any sense of incongruity. Nature, humanity's support and protector."
