"Even though it's next to an overpass and a bit noisy at night, the cleanliness is excellent, the lobby is beautiful, and all the services are great. There's also parking available for both cars and scooters. The bathtub by the window is fantastic! The toilet, shower, and tub are all separate, which is great for keeping things dry! The only minor drawback is that the sink in the bathroom tends to splash water out, but it doesn't affect usability and there's a drain on the floor anyway. Despite this small issue, I still highly recommend this place! Thank you."

"The stay was amazing. The room was great and super comfortable. Service was amazing. I had a lost item at the train station and they helped to coordinate with the help desk staff at the train center as I didn't have a local number for the help desk to call. Thanks for relieving that stress off me. I really appreciate every single staff that made our trip such an enjoyable one :)"

"It's a relaxing environment, and the foot bath is a great feature. When traveling with children, you want a place where the kids can burn off energy while the adults relax. The environment is spacious and the scenery is beautiful. There's room for the kids to run and jump around, and it's amazing there are no mosquitoes! Everything is very comfortable."

"We had a great stay at Freshfields Hotel in Taichung. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, nicely maintained and very comfortable. While the location isn’t the most convenient, the hotel offers shuttle services that you can book in advance, which made getting around much easier. A heads-up for anyone planning to use the public baths: make sure to bring a swimming cap or shower cap, as well as a swimsuit. If you forget, you’ll need to purchase them at the hotel in order to use the facilities. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable experience!"

"There must be more mosquitoes on the mountain. I forgot to bring anti-mosquito liquid. The store provides free of charge. During the meal, I also help to order Acao mosquito repellent. It is far from the city. It is a great place. ☺️ And treat my pets quite friendly and inclusive ☺️"

"It was a theme park hotel. Very far from town. The hotel was not a bad one, the facilities inside are good, but it can be better for the price range. The theme park is very old, and rather run down, some equipments were closed and abandoned with rust... not a bad one, but consider the price paid, it was not value for money...will revisit if the theme park go thru major renovation."

"The toilet paper was located at the back, making it difficult to reach. The separation between the toilet and shower was only about one-third of the way across, making it difficult to use. We arrived late, just before 7pm, but they were able to prepare dinner for us, which was very helpful. (Pork hotpot, individual portions). Breakfast was plentiful, with porridge, bread, vegetables, and more, and we were very full. Everyone was very kind. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity."

"Best resort in Taiwan and worth every penny. Highest level of service - it’s like being at a modern luxury ryokan in Japan except everyone speaks Chinese. Room design is brilliant, and one king room fit my family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers with a California king and a separate tatami area. The room has an epic view from every angle the moment you walk in the door and includes a private outdoor onsen connected to your bathroom. I noticed many private in-room onsens in Japan are diluted down, but this was spring fed. The public onsen was huge, extremely well maintained, and included a large walled zen garden with an adjacent sauna and cold plunge. I was lucky enough to experience this area all to myself with one other guest leaving as I arrived and another guest arriving as I was leaving. In China, this onsen would have comfortably accommodated 100 bathers. The spring water is not high in sulfuric content (doesn’t smell like rotten eggs), and the temperature is relatively mild - ideal for my family. Given the limited availability of the hotel online, I was expecting it to be more crowded. I got the sense that room rates are controlled to optimize guest experience, not profit, while staff are trained to ensure that customers never feel like they are being ripped off or “sold”. It seemed there were more staff than guests on site. I originally booked 2 rooms, and some of my family members couldn’t make the trip. We didn’t need the second room, and the staff were very gracious to refund and cancel the second room on the spot. When I’m back in Taiwan or traveling to a place where Hoshinoya does business, I would not hesitate to book again and make a special journey to stay at one of their destination resorts."

"Decent ok hotel, proximity to tai Chung railway station less than 8 mins walk if you go by the correct route and not follow blindly on the google map, breakfast can be missed as really need improvement but good to have as not many eateries nearby, good thing is there is a gang cheng station outside and opposite the hotel which can bring you to two famous night markets - Feng chia and Yi Zhong (better), take bus 25, 33, 35, but expect long distance ride, hotel room wall is too thin so be prepared to be disturbed at all times especially at night, WiFi can be weak at times, one last complain is the no throwing of toilet paper into the toilet bowl as too inconvenient for ladies but at this price of a well renovated hotel room, this is still acceptable"

"This hotel is directly across from Taichung TRA Station, making it super convenient to catch a train in just a few minutes. Miyahara Eye Hospital (famous for its ice cream and souvenirs) is also just a short walk away. You can easily catch a bus right outside to Rainbow Village. It's incredibly convenient. The hotel facilities are great too. The front desk service was reassuring, and they offer complimentary lemon juice and snacks in the lobby. The king-size bed in the room definitely felt wider than 1.5 meters, probably closer to 2 meters wide. Both the bathroom and toilet were clean. Breakfast is served on the second floor and it's absolutely fantastic!"
