"Chongli Ski Resort Family-Friendly Hotel Review: A Full Rundown of Pros and Cons Bringing the kids to Chongli for skiing, this hotel's location was a huge plus! The ski resort is right downstairs, so no extra travel is needed. You can drop off your kids with the instructor and leave with peace of mind. The instructors even kindly help with putting on ski boots, hats, and gloves, making the whole experience effortless and worry-free. The hotel staff are also professionally trained, always greeting you warmly and proactively, showing great attention to detail. However, two things slightly detracted from the experience: Firstly, breakfast cleanup starts a bit too early. I'd suggest extending it to 10:30 AM. After dropping off the kids at 9:30 AM and rushing to eat, there's only about ten minutes left. It's a dilemma, as you're afraid of not getting enough food and over-grabbing, yet you also worry about waste. Secondly, the gym facilities and experience were subpar and are in urgent need of upgrading. Additionally, the hotel currently doesn't offer in-room massage services. After the kids finish skiing, there's no suitable option for them to relax. Hotels I've stayed at in Nanshan offered this service, which made the experience much better. What truly deserves praise is the delightful surprise at the breakfast station. The chef making Jianbing (savory crepes) was exceptionally enthusiastic, and his craft was spot-on. The Jianbing were incredibly fragrant, and the Roujiamo (Chinese meat burger) also stood out with its excellent taste. The room layout is particularly well-suited for families. The two-bedroom setup is perfect for a family of four. The room also features a simple kitchenette. After a day of skiing, the kids can enjoy a comfortable hot bath, and then the family can cook a small hotpot together – it's cozy and delightful. Finally, a small detail: the mattress experience varies significantly between different floors. The mattresses on the second floor are a bit soft, while those on the sixth floor are much more comfortable. I'd recommend opting for a room on the sixth floor if possible."

"My stay at Tangyin Hot Spring Resort was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, right next to the ski resort, making travel incredibly convenient, and self-parking was a breeze. The room was spotless, cozy, and comfortable, with excellent underfloor heating throughout and great soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The service was warm and attentive; the front desk handled check-in efficiently, and any requests were promptly addressed with thoughtful attention to detail. The highlight was definitely the natural hot spring, sourced from 3600 meters underground, offering a full range of indoor and outdoor pools with comfortable water temperatures – perfect for unwinding after skiing, melting away all fatigue instantly. The dining was authentic and offered great value for money, and the surrounding amenities are comprehensive, with plenty of options for food, drink, and entertainment. The overall environment is elegant, facilities are complete, and the service is considerate, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing getaway. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!"

"Everything is so perfect staying at the unit. Mr Alan and team has been so kind and accomodating to my request, from helping to pick us up at train station during peak time, right throughout our stay, until we checked out. The unit is perfect, everything you need is available to use. Nothing has been more than grateful having him and his team assisting me and family during our stay there. "Very modern / new and confortable rooms - we got upgraded to a two bedroom apartment and it was very comfortable. Right by the ski slope ; 3 buildings you can reach through the parking lot or if the weather allows it from outside where you’ll find plenty of restaurants ; ski rental / gear rental services just right outside the ski lifts. In the room though no plates / cutlery / cooking tools but as we are in touch on WeChat with a very nice lady, I guess we could have asked for it. 潇湘 was helpful all along and would immediately reply to all our requests. A coupon system to get access to the breakfast restaurant ; other coupons to get discounts to rent gears and buy ski cards (a bit complicated when you don’tread Chinese) but we did manage to use them. For ski passes: note that if you buy 4 hours ski pass, it starts when you swipe your first ski lift but I think the équipement rental is for 24h so you might not have to give back your equipment every day. A bit of a hassle every morning to queue up for ski pass / equipment in the midst of CNY."

"I stay here twice a year, and luckily I got room 506 in Building 20 again. It's a two-bedroom duplex with straight-up, straight-down stairs, spacious rooms, three separate bathrooms, and a lovely balcony with an amazing view. In winter, you can ski-in/ski-out, and in summer, if you're into downhill biking, you can easily head straight back to the hotel to relax. Since the hotel lobby is in Building 8 and we were in Building 20, we had to rely on the shuttle service for transfers every time. A huge thank you to Master Liu!!! He's incredibly thoughtful and even remembered us from our summer stay. Even after half a year, he recognized our family right away when he saw us – it was so heartwarming ❤️"

"Bad check in service at front counter lady. Seems more occupied with her task than guest service. I have to call and request for our sofa bed to be open. Given we book and indicated a family of 4, unlike other hotels whom immediately arrange all additional required items such as toothbrushs, slippers, towels, water, etc. Here I have to call to request for each items. The wifi doesn't work. I have to physically bring my laptop to the front desk for assistance.. and even that was not able to connect. Breakfast, average as the food are abit hard - hard noodles, hotdogs, breads.. Only cons is location near to ski and restaurants but so are a few hotels nearby. Free scheduled public bus shuttle to/fro train station, have to walk about 7 mins to the bus stop. As a Hyatt member, this is the worse Hyatt Place hotels I stayed. I believe surrounding hotels will have better guest services and competitive price too."

"Location: A 3-minute drive to Taizicheng Station, and about 7-8 minutes to Thaiwoo Ski Resort. Facilities: My experience was really bad. I stayed in room 2018. First, many of the light switches in the room were messed up. Then, to turn off all the lights, you had to hit the 'master switch,' but doing so also turned off the air conditioning. Around 11 PM, the front desk sent an electrician who took about 20 minutes to fix it. Finally, it was resolved. Service: At least the electrician's repair service was okay. It was late, and they fixed it quickly. After checking out, they even contacted me, offering a discount for a future stay. But I won't be coming back."

"Originally, for this ski trip to Chongli near Beijing, Genting was my first choice. However, I have a soft spot for big brand hotels, so when I saw there was a Crowne Plaza, I switched to it. Firstly, I love that the rooms have wooden floors, and secondly, the balcony view from the room is absolutely stunning! I couldn't get enough of the mountain and lake views; every day, besides skiing, was spent just taking photos. The hotel service was also incredibly satisfying, especially our butler, Linda Fan. She was exceptionally thoughtful, patiently showing us rooms until we were completely happy. Her warm and helpful service made this trip very enjoyable, and I'm very grateful. I also want to mention the hotel's breakfast – a rich variety of delicious options."

"I bought a pre-sale voucher, and it felt like a pretty good deal. I chose InterContinental to relax after a terrible stay the night before I went skiing. Since we arrived late in the evening, the signs weren't very clear. It felt like the InterContinental lobby was off to the side, not as grand as the hotel next door. Check-in was smooth, and the room was excellent with complete facilities. The only thing was that the bathroom door was too heavy, and it got a bit warm after closing it. The breakfast selection was varied and delicious; my family loved it. It would be even better if there was a sign for the cold food section, as we didn't notice it at first and wondered why there weren't any salads or fruits. Here's a small piece of feedback about the dining experience: Our group of 5 was led to a table further inside the restaurant upon arrival. There were clearly clean two-person and three-person tables available by the entrance, which could have been pushed together to make a five-person table. Instead, we were seated at a five-person table (also made of a 2+3 combination) that hadn't been fully cleared yet, which was quite puzzling. I sent my family to get food, and during that time, I noticed the server prioritized setting up cutlery at an empty table nearby instead of first clearing and setting our table. There were two male servers in that area, who seemed to be new. Their plate clearing and service awareness could use improvement. One of them was quite slow and looked a bit tired, only clearing empty plates from our table after being prompted by a supervisor. In contrast, the male server in the entrance area was quick, efficient, and well-organized at clearing tables. The service difference was quite noticeable."
