Scenic Hotels in Gili Trawangan

"Location: Private and beautiful beach. Not great for swimming or snorkeling (due to the tide) but beautiful for sunsets. In general it's in a more quiet, less crowded area. However, there are lots of restos, beach cinemas, and a small grocery store in walking distance. It takes ~15-20min to drive to the other side of the island where the harbor, the night market, and lots of bars are located. Rooms: Spacious. Clean. Everything as described. Comfortable beds (mattresses are not extremely soft, but rather a bit hard). The terrace is really nice. Food: Breakfast was very delicious. It's not buffet, but the portions are really good and definitely sufficient. Every breakfast includes tea/coffee, juice, water, and pastry. Service: All staff was overly kind and friendly. Room service up to 2 times a day (with homemade cookies every night). Bikes are for rent - prices are the same as everywhere else. Bikes are a bit run down - but so are most bikes that we've seen on the island. We recommend staying at the hotel."

"Excellent value for money over the New Year holidays. We stayed for 3 days. The bikes were great for an extra 50k. The pool was clean, the room cozy, and the garden green. They put us on the 2nd floor in the furthest room, which was a fantastic decision as it was quiet and far from the pool (the noise from 2nd-floor guests would likely be audible on the 1st floor). Highly recommend! 👍"

"This hotel is really great! It offers excellent value for money. It's beachfront, with the beach and boats just across the road. The rooms are decent, although we ended up with one right at the very end of the hotel, so it was quite a walk to get there, but that wasn't a problem. Breakfasts are good, with plenty of options. We only used the large pool, which was fantastic and clean; there's also a deeper pool (2.2m) for diving. The grounds are beautiful, and there are lots of cafes and bars nearby, but we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The prices there were more reasonable than elsewhere. Every evening, there's also a BBQ dinner on the beach for 250k per person (drinks not included), where they grill seafood right in front of you. It was charming. For excursions, we took a 5-hour snorkeling trip around the Gili islands, which we enjoyed. The hotel also offers bike rentals for half a day (25k) and a full day (50k). The bikes were a bit worn from age, but comfortable to ride – we cycled around the entire island on our first day. On the second day, we rented a scooter for 150k for half a day. We didn't ride the horses; we felt sorry for them. Overall, everything was superb! We'll definitely be back to Gili T next year!"

"The resort was good, but the staff seemed to be micro managing everything. About half an hour before checkout I got a text reminding me of the checkout time, to which I did not respond (did not seem like I had to). Then, 20 minutes before checkout a guy starts knocking on my room window telling me the checkout is in 20 minutes, which I was fully aware of. Then after checkout, I was told to wait the reception because they were ‘checking the room’. I inquires what they meant, and they told me they would be checking for ‘things such as stains’. Very weird, and it all felt very pushy. Especially considering I was only one of the few residents, and most rooms seemed to be empty."

The location is super convenient – within walking distance to bike paths and the best spots for exploring the island. 🏡 Rooms and Grounds: The rooms are modern, clean, and very stylish, with thoughtful design and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the cottages – they're cozy, spacious, and perfect for both couples and families. The well-maintained green grounds, swimming pools, and beach umbrellas create a dream vacation atmosphere. 🤝 Staff: The hotel team is a definite plus! They are very welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. They assisted us with bicycles, answered all our questions, and made our stay even more enjoyable. 🍽️ Food and Services: The breakfasts are delicious, with a variety of dishes to suit all tastes, and the restaurant offers interesting international cuisine. "Sea Shell Hotel Gili is a small and cozy hotel where we stayed for two nights during our trip to the Gili Islands. The hotel is located inside the island rather than directly on the beach, but the ocean is still within easy walking distance — just a short walk to the left side of the island. Considering the size of Gili, the location is actually quite convenient and quiet. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. The bathroom was also quite big with good plumbing — hot water was always available and the water pressure was strong. Overall everything was clean and well maintained. One small thing that felt a bit strange was that we were given only one towel per person. If a place positions itself as a hotel rather than a guesthouse, it would be nice to have at least two towels per guest. Another detail we didn’t love was the drinking water system. Water is provided in a jug rather than sealed plastic bottles. While it may be more eco-friendly, personally I feel a bit more comfortable when the drinking water comes in sealed bottles. The hotel has a large swimming pool which looks nice, although we didn’t end up using it — when you’re on Gili, swimming in the ocean feels like the obvious choice. Breakfast was probably the most disappointing part of the stay. There is a menu, but in reality there aren’t many options to choose from. On the second morning about half of the menu was unavailable when we tried to order, and no explanation was given. Amsterdam - Good cafe near the hotel :) in the end we sorted out our breakfast there Overall, Sea Shell Hotel Gili is a decent option if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with spacious rooms and a good bathroom. It’s not perfect, but for a short stay on the island it worked well enough."

"A nice, cozy hotel in its price range. Everything is new and clean. The bed and pillows are good. The port is a 5-minute walk away. You can hear prayers at 5 a.m., but that's common in this country. Bring earplugs or get up and go looking for turtles. It's not that hot, but the water is amazingly warm. The streets are still uncrowded, so you can ride along the coast with a breeze. One morning, we found four of them in one place. It was amazing! Delicious omelette for breakfast. There's hot water. There's a faucet at the entrance. There's one outlet in the parking lot; in theory, you can charge your bike. If there's heaven, Gili Land is it."

"During my journey in Indonesia I stayed at 12 places, Trawangan Oasis was the best. Beautiful garden and well maintained facilities. In the basic room they have so many little things ( personal tresor, personal tap in front to wash your leg, the bed is huge! Etc..) located at the middle of the island so you need to walk 10 mins in any direction to reach the shore."

"A great hotel for those seeking peace and quiet. It's located on the opposite side from the noisy port (about a 15-20 minute ride by horse cart or bike). You can rent bikes directly from the hotel, which is super convenient for getting around the island. The beach in front of the hotel is rocky, so you can't go into the water without water shoes. The grounds are very beautiful, and the sunsets at this hotel are truly the best on the island."

"This is a great hotel, conveniently located right by the pier, making it super easy to find food, entertainment, and activities. The hotel is clean and tidy, and the staff are enthusiastic and polite – almost all young and handsome guys! If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely choose this hotel."
