Yes, we booked this hotel at very short notice via Booking (150€), but that doesn't excuse the fact that we weren't able to check in. There was no staff on site and no one could be reached on the phone number given at the "reception". The Ukrainians on site (guests, not employees) tried to help after we had walked around the building for a while, but they didn't know what to do. So we cancelled and paid for not staying overnight! At some point we got a call back and the cheeky offer to stay in another hotel, provided we paid another 160€. We declined. Later we received another call and were offered to pay only the difference to the pre-booking, i.e. 10€, which seemed impossible in the first phone call. On the advice of local residents we declined that too ("it's better not to have anything to do with this hotel owner") and we preferred to sleep in the car! An unforgettable weekend - for 150€ :(
