Fairfield Inn & Suites Scottsdale Old Town

Was an ok experience

Room was clean (something our recent stay at a Quality Inn, Walker, MI was not), and the bed surprisingly comfortable. Hard working breakfast attendant did a nice job. Evelyn at the front desk was wonderful. Room was cramped, too much furniture in a small space. No noise problems. Did not find the hot-tub and pool area the least bit inviting. The 'fitness room' seemed to have an elliptical trainer, bike and TV, not what we had in mind for a workout. There was a $2 “Admin.” fee for each night on our Folio Summary at check out. This fee did not appear on our original reservation. I asked at the front desk about this fee, and was told it was a fee imposed by the owner, and it would be removed if we requested to have it removed. Pretty tricky, something to keep an eye on. Deception like that will keep us from returning.

We stayed here for one night before flying out early the next morning. As such, we didn’t get to spend a ton of time at this hotel, but we liked what we saw. Service was a bit slow checking us in, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom had a separate fan and power switch, which is always nice. The room came with a helpful list of local restaurants which we did use to choose a dinner option. The hotel had a nice-looking pool but, we didn't get to try it out, nor breakfast in the morning with our early flight, but it was available. One note of caution: be careful when approaching the hotel from Drinkwater. You basically have to make a U-turn followed by an immediate right. It's a little weird, but it does work. Once you get there, parking is plentiful.

My travel plans changed at the last minute, and I needed a place to stay in Scottsdale for one night. This hotel was exactly what I was looking for - it was very clean, very quiet, and affordable. The surrounding neighborhood/area felt very safe and there was plenty of parking.

Enjoyed being able to walk into Oldtown Scottsdale! Safe area. Nice hotel! Good breakfast. Free onsite parking. Comfortable beds. Spacious room with a couch and larger refrigerator. Elevator!
