Don’t be mislead into thinking this is a hotel, it’s a pub with rooms ( which we were aware of) we were staying here as a group of friends. on arrival told that the pub no longer served food apart from breakfast but that the bar would be open until 11pm. Shown to our room passed a huge room which I imagine used to a dining room, now piled high with junk and broken furniture.! The conservatory shown in the photos is also just a dumping ground for junk and is not accessible for guests. Rooms were clean and had been presented nicely, but decor very tired and some mould in the shower, carpets very well worn.. the bed was very soft and lumpy, and pillows flat, all of the above is manageable if you are paying £85 or so for the room, but at £145 for one night, in October is exceptionally poor value for money. As a group approx 15 of us, we went out for dinner as we couldn’t eat at the pub, and on arriving back at 10.30 ordered a drink each .. at about 10.50 bell was rung for what we thought was last orders so went to by another to be told, no that meant they had closed the bar, and we had ten minutes to drink up and return to our rooms.. bar man then proceeded to stand over our group waiting for us to go to our rooms, this on top of the shabby state of the hotel really ruined our stay. Would definitely not recommend.
