Beachwood Resort

My spouse and I had the pizza , because we heard great reviews, well I ll say it's nothing to rave about !! The selection for pizza is awful . The drinks were great !! But other then that , it's over priced .

Just returned from the resort, 2 night stay including the meal plan. Resort is beautiful and spotless , rooms grounds and lobby. We stayed in the lodge tree view room sharing a communal fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Meal plan included dinner and breakfast. Large portions, for dinner with daily specials. The 2 days we were there had buffet breakfast with a large selection. Great place for children of all ages, with aqua gym and salt water pool. Had a Great stay.

End of summer - not quite ready for Autumn. The weather was great for the last week of August and our hosts at Beachwood, the Morgan Family, went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and fun. There is so much to do at Beachwood: water sports including a water playground, fishing, the sand pile, the playground. Bar service was superb. The cabin was immaculate.

The food at Beachwood is absolutely amazing, We especially enjoyed the lakeside patio bar that offers meals, ice cream, and drinks. The resort staff are friendly and very accommodating to special requests, The cottage we stayed at was extremely clean. Highly recommend.

In all of my experiences staying at resorts, I have never been told that a request was “minute” in significance. Those were the exact words used by the OWNER of Beachwood Resort when asking for a mixed drink. Dave had more important things to worry about other than helping a paying guest. If he couldn’t help me at that particular moment, “give me a few minutes and I’ll get it to you” would have sufficed. Just want to be clear - one of his staff members made my friends and I the most delicious Palomas to enjoy our first night and they were delightful. We figured it wouldn’t be too much to ask for the same drink a couple of days later. I was staying here with a group of 11 people and we paid a premium not only for our cottages, we rented a boat and bought drinks and snacks on the daily. After the owner was dismissive, we didn’t want to pay a penny more. This will be the last time we stay here. To see someone have no desire to retain customers and to treat them with little respect, or should I say ‘minutely’, is why I am writing this review today. I am completely taken aback by this behaviour. The owner was condescending and downright rude. The bar was closed most of the time, so when it was open, we rushed over to enjoy some more delicious drinks. Apparently the owner, as well as some of his staff, were not willing to go the distance to grab an ingredient for a drink I was served the day before. On top of that, the restaurant was completely booked every night for dinner, where only a few tables were being served. There is only one chef on the premises, so there was no availability to eat on-site. That is something that would have been nice to know the moment we checked-in. I understand the challenges that come along with labour shortages, but there is a right way and wrong way of saying and doing things. The owner is way over his head and the rudest man I have ever encountered. My friends and I (3 families) booked two full-sized cottages. This is not the first year we’ve stayed here - we came during the pandemic and were prepared to have little expectations. We figured we would give this place another chance. Other than the nice view - what view wouldn’t be nice by the lake - we weren’t impressed! The cleaning staff left the floors soaking wet when we arrived. Some rooms smelled moldy, there were insects stuck all over the window sills and most of the glasses in the cottage still had lip stains on them because they weren’t cleaned very well. It was a very ‘minute’ experience for us considering the price tag. We feel taken advantage of for what we paid. The only saving grace were the guests/families staying at this resort - they were very lovely people. If you’re wondering if this place is any good, look somewhere else. Find a place that won’t rip you off and treat you like a human being.

Beautiful lakeside property!

Fantastic stay here! Our kids loved this resort and all the great activities (kayaks, floating jungle gym, games, etc). Lake was perfect for them with a sandy bottom. We got the lake view suite room which was roomier and fantastic view. We heard the other rooms are a bit small. Food was great although breakfast could be better. Kids loved meeting other kids at the resort. We would definitely be back.

Far from any big city, very clean air, very nice view on the lake, few people, quiet. Perfect place to break daily crazy race work-work-work.

We stayed at a lake view room. Totally recommend it over the regular ones as it gives extra room and an awesome view. Staff was great although on the fry fish buffet night servers were so busy we only had a drink 1 hour after we sat. Only not so great experience. One of the bed was not so silent for horizontal mambo, but the other one was quiet so we switched the baby to tue noisy one. Pool was heated, never crowded, always clean. They have lots of toys for kids and adults (including canoes and paddle boats) and the aquatic park is Amazing for teenagers as well as kids. Everyone is friendly and the a**osphere is just right for relaxed and fun family vacations. We would go back!
