Sagittarius Resort

The villa is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and offers stunning ocean views. There are many fish around the villa, although the variety of species depends on luck. Most of the time, we saw schools of small fish, but occasionally we were lucky enough to spot colorful tropical fish and even some larger species early in the morning. During high tide, the water was deeper than my height. Although we wore life jackets, we felt a little uneasy swimming too far from the villa and generally stayed close to the staircase for safety. At low tide, the water becomes very shallow, which makes it easier to observe the fish clearly from the surface. The hotel also arranged a snorkeling trip to a site further along the jetty. The area is rich in coral formations. While the corals and marine life may not be as spectacular as those found on some famous islands, they were more than sufficient for us, as our main purpose was to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The sunrise and sunset views were absolutely breathtaking. The food was generally good, although I found some of the dishes a little too oily for my preference. Local fishermen occasionally approached our villa to sell freshly caught seafood. The hotel offered a cooking service for RM50, which I felt was reasonably priced. Areas for Improvement The bathroom faucet became detached when I turned it on, causing water to flow into the cabinet beneath the sink. Fortunately, the hotel responded promptly and completed the repair within an hour. The daybed appeared worn and stained, so we did not feel comfortable using it. It would be helpful to provide a floor mat at the exit leading to the outdoor area and the sea. The service was excellent overall. Special thanks to Ms. Lin Shu Ting for her exceptional assistance in accompanying us to the police station in Semporna to help resolve an issue involving our missing items. I would also like to commend Mr. Tan (陈管家), who was extremely attentive and responded to all of our requests quickly and professionally. Overall, the hotel did not feel as luxurious as its price point might suggest. However, the breathtakingly clear waters, beautiful scenery, and peaceful environment more than compensated for the shortcomings in room quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and left with wonderful memories.

Everything about this resort is wrong. It is designed for china tourists only. From the electrical plug to the food, it is catered to china tourists only. This place is not worth the daily rate. Its worth only USD100 per night. Also all shower water gets drained into the sea and i was afraid to shower and pollute the sea with soap. The roof was split in the middle and i was so afraid that the villa wld crumble and fall into the sea. On the first bight here was a violent storm and the villa shook. Lol.. wldnt go back again

Don’t get scammed by the pictures We booked Sagittarius Resort, Semporna through t r i p c o m** because the listing showed a beautiful, modern resort and claimed it was opened in 2025. In reality, what we arrived at felt nothing like what was advertised. We paid approximately USD 6,400 for 2 nights (4 rooms)—about RM3,200 per room per night. At this price point, we expected a genuine luxury resort experience. Instead, what we got felt misleading and deeply disappointing. Our experience included: - Old, worn-out, and poorly maintained overwater rooms. - Damaged wooden flooring and visibly aging, neglected facilities. - Air conditioning that repeatedly broke down in the middle of the night. - Extremely weak shower water pressure. - Underwhelming, low-quality meals, with anything decent only available at an extra charge. The most disturbing part was the environmental condition. We witnessed what appeared to be shower wastewater and kitchen discharge being released directly into the ocean. On top of that, plastic bottles and bags were floating around the resort area, which was shocking and unacceptable in such a fragile marine environment. The disappointment began even before arriving at the resort. Seafest Jetty was already littered with floating garbage, setting a completely unacceptable tone for what was supposed to be a premium getaway. For RM3,200 per room per night, this experience was nowhere close to what was promised. The photos and description on the booking platform feel highly misleading compared to the actual condition of the property. We sincerely hope the resort management, t r i p c o m, and the relevant authorities take these issues seriously and investigate. Future travelers deserve honesty—not polished images that don’t reflect reality. Hoping local authorities could step in investigating this resort.
