Seafest Hotel

The hotel is quite old and not very comfortable. Most of the staff don't speak Chinese, which made communication slow. The hotel has a lot of rules, for example, some food items are not allowed in the rooms. They also require a cash deposit in Malaysian Ringgit. The best part was that my room had a sea view right from the window.

The location is absolutely perfect – it's tucked away in a quiet spot, yet still central. At night, even the breeze outside my window felt gentle and soothing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep with no disturbance from noise. It was ideal for sleeping in! Right across the street, there's a KFC, so if I had an early start or a craving, I could just dash over, grab a hot and spicy original recipe chicken, and be back in my room with my fragrant fried chicken in five minutes. Couldn't be more convenient. The only minor drawback is that the facilities are a bit dated. Some drawer handles were a little loose, and you could see signs of age on the walls. However, the room was spotlessly clean, so it was still a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The biggest surprise was the breakfast! From freshly fried, tender poached eggs to soft congee, fragrant fried rice, and even a table full of local specialty pastries – there was such a wide variety that I was spoiled for choice. I could mix and match my breakfast every day, which really made the value for money exceptional. Friends who prioritize convenience and good food should definitely go for it!

Beyond its proximity to the ferry terminal, this hotel has absolutely no redeeming qualities. It's incredibly old; the hallways reek of mildew, and honestly, it feels more like a guesthouse in a rural town from a forgotten era. The room lighting is dim, especially in the bathroom – anyone staying there would be utterly miserable. They boasted about a great breakfast, but I was up all night and had no desire to eat it. I checked out immediately the next day and found another hotel. For 300-400 a night, you're much better off choosing a newer guesthouse. I ended up switching to the Ruijing Haifeng, which was quite clean.

This is the oldest hotel I've ever seen. The 80s decor hasn't been updated, things are patched up everywhere, it's super expensive, and it's a Muslim hotel with a very strong, distinct smell.

The room was incredibly basic and the facilities were old – definitely not worth the price! I couldn't tell if it was the drain or the toilet that kept leaking, but the constant sound of running water really messed with my sleep. During the day, there was noisy construction going on on the hotel roof. Plus, you can't smoke anywhere inside the hotel; you have to go outside. For heavy smokers, I imagine that would be torture. The staff service was decent, and breakfast was just okay.
