Great value for money, overall highly recommended. The room was a bit small, but the price was good, and it's only a few hundred meters from Myeongdong. Breakfast included milk, instant noodles, bread, and more, which you could prepare yourself.

Cheap for budget travellers. Close to Myeondong town and tower. Close to subway station. Many places to shop around. Close to bus terminal pick up point to Vivaldi ski resort. Many good food restaurants around. You can cook in the pantry.

Self-check-in was a hassle. I booked a twin room, but ended up with only a king-sized bed. To make matters worse, the door lock was broken and couldn't be secured at all. I tried contacting customer service via email, but it was completely useless; they even read my messages without responding or resolving the issue. There was only one blanket for two people, and despite emailing to request another, it was never provided, even by the last day. The overall stay was terrible. The bathroom was tiny, and the toilet had a foul smell from backflow. This was hands down the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

Location wise, it is quite near to Myeongdong train station and street market but for people who are not good with hills, at least be prepared to walk uphills. Staff was friendly. Although you won’t be able to see one most of the time. Now the downsides; for ₩150000 or around $130/night, I don’t think we got what we paid for. Seen other reviews saying “you get what you pay for”, I’m not sure how much they paid for. Firstly, no basic beddings like duvet and pillow case. The pillow itself was small and thin. Half the size of the standard pillow. Literally just a bed cover and bed heater underneath. Blankets and towel were so worn down. Requested for another towel which turned out to be of better quality than the other one we had. Thick dust under the bed with some left empty bottles and cups probably left by previous tenants. Bed frame actually quite flimsy. We were worried if we would break it. Shower was working well. We were hesitant to stay but it was not refundable. We don’t have big fuss about breakfast but bread left for guests at the kitchen was expired. We checked in on the 16th. Our first breakfast was on 17th and onwards, the same loaves of bread with the same expiry still on the counter and not replaced. I understand it’s not a hotel, there’s nothing much you can expect in terms of service but cleanliness is a must. Having said all that, the price should have been way cheaper. Wouldn’t recommended this for the price we have paid. Not worth it.

If you don't mind the surroundings, it's fine.

We were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself. The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side. We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance. Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms. Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement. If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room. Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly. Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here. Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building. Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.

As the price is low, I didn't expect much. I took a cab to the pty as I had heavy luggage. It's only KRW5500 from Myeongdong shopping street, via Uber. The ramp to the entrance has two steps, making it difficult to roll my luggage up. Will be good if the ramp can be modified to slide all the way to the floor. Read other reviews on the lack of human interaction upon arrival. My key was in a bowl labelled with my name. The room 109 was small but acceptable for me as I only plan to stay for a night. The aircon, TV, window blinds, door frame were filthy, so I wiped them clean with my own rag. The bathroom was in the best condition but there was no hot water. The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean. I actually slept very well, right through the night. The basement kitchen had filtered water and basic food supplies. Strong WiFi. I hope the owner will clean the room well for future guests. While the rates are low, the owner should minimally clean the aircon, TV, blinds, door frame and bathroom exhaust, they were too dirty. I would not stay here again. But if u wish to, pls bring rags and be prepared to clean the room a little. Also I suggest you bring your own towels, and don't forget your own toiletries, bedroom slippers, this is not a hotel.

Dirty, old, shabby, and cramped... I planned to sleep for a few hours during a layover, but the environment was so bad I couldn't even get any sleep. It's remote and secluded, and the pictures at the entrance don't match the interior.

Operator... I have no personal feelings, but I came to Seoul for the first time with my 4th grade daughter and I cried because of the accommodations, so I'm leaving a few comments. The accommodations are so dirty. It's one thing that there's no staff at the front desk, but when I went into the room, there were dead bugs and a ton of dust in every corner. There was no hot water, so I washed my hair with cold water and felt really cold, so I called and luckily my child washed with hot water, but I was surprised when I showered. The basement breakfast was even more surprising. There was mold on the cereal, the milk was past its expiration date, and I couldn't eat the ramen because the electric range kept turning off, and there was no toast. I was trying to make a cup of coffee and saw a water bug living in the drain in front of the water purifier. ㅜㅜ Anyway, I want a refund for the breakfast. I didn't get any calls or texts and I didn't get any replies. I was so angry, and I wandered around with my child for a while before having breakfast at a restaurant. I understand that the facilities are old, but look at the restaurant. It's full of mold. Phew... Anyway, even foreigners were shocked and left the restaurant. I'm embarrassed. I'm so angry. I don't want to go near Myeongdong again.

The hotel is not the cheapest, but there was no duvet cover and pillowcase in the room. I got the pillowcase with a fight, but they never gave me a duvet cover. There is no toothpaste or toothbrush in the room. The big plus of the hotel is the location. Everything a tourist needs is nearby.

For the first time in my life I lived in a room where for $100 a day: - there was no bed linen on the bed. No sheets, no duvet cover - only pillowcases - there was a thick layer of dust under the bed. And also a bag of chips and a dirty plastic cup from the previous tenants - the air conditioner did not work at all for heating at a temperature of plus 12 and I had to sleep in a jacket - there was a very strong smell of mold
