SL Hotel Myeongdong

Booked a 3-night, 4-day stay at Myeongdong SL Hotel through Ctrip, and my overall experience was a mix of good and bad. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable – just across the street from Myeongdong, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. Plus, there are convenience stores nearby, so grabbing drinks or other necessities was a breeze. The room amenities were excellent, with a washing machine, dryer, and refrigerator, which is incredibly practical for longer stays or frequent travelers. Everything was easy to use. The only downsides were that the room's heating was a bit too warm, making it feel stuffy after a while. Also, there's room for improvement in service details; on our third day of a three-night stay, housekeeping didn't clean the room, and our key card wasn't registered, causing a delay before we headed out. I hope the hotel can improve its daily checks for hygiene and key card functionality.

The hotel is new. The room has a washing machine and dryer, which was very convenient as I brought my own laundry detergent. The shower pressure was great and the water was hot enough. Remember to bring your own toiletries. The hotel location is excellent, very close to the subway station. Turn right out of the hotel and cross a small road, and you're in Myeongdong. I recommend #SejongGanjangGejang, which is only a three-minute walk away – it's delicious! The Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) is also good, and the Korean-Chinese proprietress there is very welcoming.

This hotel is brand new, so it's incredibly clean and tidy. The rooms are well-equipped with shampoo, shower gel, slippers, and a hairdryer. It's super convenient, only a five-minute walk to Myeongdong subway station. If you're traveling with kids, you won't have to worry about the hotel being too far from public transport. The staff are also very attentive and thoughtful; they gave us hand warmers every day, which kept my two children cozy while we were out and about. The hotel is quiet at night too; it's not right on a busy road where you can't sleep. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Seoul!

This hotel is incredibly convenient for transportation. It's super close to the 6001 and 6015 airport buses, and just a 5-minute walk to the Cheonho-dong shopping street. Lotte Duty-Free is also nearby. There are three subway lines within a seven or eight-minute walk, and a convenience store less than 100 meters away downstairs. The service is very thoughtful. Although the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, communication was smooth despite the language barrier. Staff members always greeted us proactively when we passed by the front desk. Housekeeping was especially prompt; after putting up the 'please clean' sign, the room was tidied up very quickly. The room itself was clean and odorless, with absolutely no new renovation smell. I stayed in a twin room, which was a bit small, making it difficult to fully open a large suitcase. Upon check-in, I accidentally bumped a switch on the wall with a white sticker, which caused the hot water to stop working, but after contacting the front desk, they fixed it very quickly. The room had underfloor heating, which was very comfortable for a winter stay. Disposable slippers and paper cups were also provided.

The location is convenient. After getting off the airport bus 6015 or 6001 at G3 Hotel Station, stand at the bus stop facing the road and walk left for about 100 steps to see Chungmuro Station Exit 5. Walk right for about 180 steps, look up and to your right, and you'll see SL Hotel in an alley to the right. From the hotel entrance, turning left takes you towards Chungmuro Station, and turning right takes you towards Myeongdong Station. The staff are very friendly, and the location is convenient for getting anywhere. To the left of the hotel entrance, there's a GU store and a GS25 convenience store. The only strange thing is that the room has an induction hob, so I bought instant noodles to cook, but there were no pots (I've stayed in other hotels that had induction hobs + pots, pans, and cutlery). The hot water supply is plentiful, and the water pressure is good. The room is very warm. I would still choose to stay here again in the future.

The location is fantastic! It's just a street away from Myeongdong, so it's not noisy. Being situated between two subway lines makes getting around super convenient. They have staff who speak Chinese, so there were no communication issues. The underfloor heating and hot water were excellent, keeping the room really warm in winter. It was cleaned daily. Aside from the room being a bit small, the value for money here is unbeatable!
