ZIP1972 Hostel Dongdaemun

Overall, the location is quite good. However, it's a shame there's no elevator to the second floor. On the last day, the WiFi completely stopped working, and there was no way to contact the front desk. This was the only minor drawback; everything else was great.

The accommodation is super close to the airport bus 6002 Heunginjimun Station (Dongdaemun). The closest subway exit is Dongdaemun Exit 4 (stairs). For an escalator, you'd have to walk a bit further. It's also near Dongmyo Station. DDP Station isn't far either, about a 5-10 minute walk. If you're too lazy to transfer, you can walk to DDP Station to catch the green line, which is very convenient. There are CU, E-mart, and 7-Eleven nearby, all within easy reach, and a Mega Coffee isn't far either. There are also many shops in the vicinity. If you're taking the AREX from Seoul Station to the airport, an Uber ride there is also quite cheap. The room TV can watch YouTube, which is great. Bottled water is provided in the fridge, and there's a water dispenser in the common area, which even has an ice option! Superb. The common area offers free instant noodles + an instant noodle machine, and a very useful vacuum cleaner. It's convenient to clean up after blow-drying your hair. There's also a free laundry room outside. The room is new, the air conditioning is very cool, the hairdryer has strong airflow, the shower pressure is excellent, the hot water is stable, and the soundproofing is also very good. A minor drawback is the lack of an elevator, although it's only two floors. But if you buy too much, the last day might be a bit challenging, haha. The bathroom door glass is a bit too transparent; it's suggested that the frosted part could be higher or a shower curtain added. There was a slight water leak on the floor near the bathroom. The smell of instant noodles in the common area seemed to be persistent, and I hope that can be improved. Overall, the value for money is very high, and the location is very convenient. I would consider staying here again if I go to Korea next time!

This hotel was very clean and excellent. I personally loved the scent of the hand soap so much I kept washing my hands! ✨ There was no sewage smell or anything, but when I turned on the air conditioner, water came out from above the toilet. It wasn't a big deal though. The free space had complimentary ramen and a machine to prepare it, which was convenient. However, it's best to grab it early as it can run out by night. The bed is quite firm, so I thought it would be nice to have two pillows, one for the head and one for the lower back, haha. You can barely hear other guests from the room, so I slept very well. I'd like to stay here again!

The all-white decor and shoe-free policy from the entrance to the room gave a very clean impression. The room itself was also meticulously cleaned and tidy. I really enjoyed the two types of ramen, sweet and spicy, that were available! I was very happy with the complimentary service! The hostel is on the second floor and only accessible by stairs. When I arrived, my suitcase was light so it was fine, but carrying a suitcase weighing over 20 kg down on the way back was extremely difficult and scary. Bath towels and face towels are self-service. On the first day, even after 3 PM, there were plenty, but on the second day, I returned to the hostel at 1 AM after going out and found no bath towels at the designated spot. I tried to inquire, but couldn't reach anyone due to the late hour, so I managed with face towels. Even then, I took the last three face towels, so it was a close call. Also, the shower room and the main room are separated by a sliding glass door, and when I used the shower, water leaked through the sliding part into the room, making it wet. It was a shame that the TV only offered smart services and couldn't access regular TV channels. However, overall, the location is great, being close to the station with various shops like chicken restaurants and convenience stores around the hostel.

The newly built facility was spotlessly clean! The room was also very cute. It was convenient that towels and toilet paper were placed in the hallway, so we could just grab them freely if we ran out. We were looking forward to having ramen for a late-night snack, but unfortunately, the machine was broken, and we couldn't have any. However, there was a server with free coffee and various teas, which was great. As others have mentioned, the hand soap smelled wonderful! I also tried the shampoo and conditioner, and they left my hair feeling smooth. The only downsides were that, I'm not sure if it was just our room, but we could hear a lot of noise from people coming and going (doors opening/closing, locks disengaging). Also, the bathroom door was frosted glass, which felt a bit uncomfortable when using it. The room layouts seem to differ, but in our room, the toilet area would get completely wet when taking a shower.

The room was clean and comfortable! The hairdryer was also easy to use. However, the bathroom door is glass and quite transparent, which I thought might be a concern for some. In the common area, there was a water dispenser, amenities like tea, and even a ramen maker! I actually chatted with someone from another room about how great it was to be able to have ramen there. I'd love to stay here again!

The room was very new and spacious enough for three people, equipped with a mini-fridge, and had excellent soundproofing. The public facilities were also very complete, offering free instant noodles and complimentary drinking water. Towels and tissues could be conveniently picked up from the hallway. The hotel front desk staff were also very nice. Highly recommended, I'd likely book this place again next time! 👍

I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights! The room was clean, and it was close to Dongdaemun Station, which was great! There weren't any amenities, but the free ramen was incredibly delicious! The owner was also very kind, and I'd love to stay here again when I visit Korea! Just a heads-up, there are no amenities like toothbrushes, so it's best to buy them locally or bring your own!
