Hotel Tirol Gangnam

The room is small, but quite clean, and the bathroom is large. The hotel itself is small, but it's very close to the subway station with plenty of dining options around. Given the price, it offers great value for money. It was my first time visiting South Korea, and since I'd heard that prices there were very high, I was mentally prepared to be ripped off on accommodation. However, it far exceeded my expectations :).

If you're staying at this hotel, be aware that the door lock is very likely broken. I locked the door before heading out, and good thing I have a habit of giving it a tug – it just opened right up without needing the room card. I called the hotel staff to fix it. At first, they said 'change,' and I thought they meant changing rooms, so I packed my bags. But they just sent someone to change a screw or something. The security latch on the door was also broken, making it useless. Plus, there are no power outlets by the bed, so charging your phone is impossible. And the second-floor window faces the parking lot, with people and cars constantly coming and going.

Hygiene: Quite clean, the floors were sparkling. Environment: About a 5-minute walk from the subway station, which is convenient, but the area around the hotel is quite noisy, and I was woken up by the outside noise in the morning. Service: Pretty good. Facilities: Basic amenities were provided, but the towels felt a bit old, and the bedding was quite thin. The WiFi was consistently bad, the fridge was noisy, and the soundproofing of the room was also pretty mediocre. The weekday price was okay, but it nearly doubled on weekends, which was quite expensive.

I frequently travel to Guangzhou for business, and this stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel's location is very convenient for getting around by taxi and finding places to eat. The room was spotlessly clean, quiet, and had good soundproofing. The mattress was just right—not too soft, not too hard—allowing for a great rest after a busy day. The WiFi was stable, which was helpful for getting work done online. The front desk staff were polite and efficient with both check-in and check-out. Overall, it offers good value for money and is a solid choice for business travelers.

The location is unbeatable, making it convenient to get anywhere. However, the facilities are outdated, and the decor feels old-fashioned. The air conditioning also didn't work very well. Specifically, the bed was so uncomfortable that I woke up with back pain.

The hotel location is super convenient, easily accessible by airport bus. It's also only about a 3-4 minute walk to both the bus stop and subway station. The hotel is also quite clean, and not as noisy as some reviews suggested. I didn't hear any KTV sounds during my two-day stay. If you're heading to Sinsa-dong or Apgujeong, this hotel is a great option. Transportation is excellent – it's close to the airport bus stop, Sinsa subway station, and a bus stop. Thumbs up!

The room size was decent, but the facilities and decor were dated. The mattress was quite firm, and the cleanliness wasn't great – I found long hairs on the floor, table, and in the bathroom. They didn't provide disposable slippers, but did offer a kettle and disposable dental kits. The in-room refrigerator was a bit noisy, and I imagine it would be even louder if your room faced the road. The hotel sign outside displayed two stars. If the cleaning improved, it would offer better value for money. It's conveniently located near the subway, making transportation easy.
