SOTETSU HOTELS THE SPLAISIR SEOUL MYEONG-DONG

The brown room was lovely! The location is great too, within walking distance of Myeongdong, Namdaemun, and Seoul Station, and close to a high-speed bus stop. I was considering a few hotels in the center of Myeongdong, but this hotel is quiet and peaceful. Even if I return late, the path isn't dark, and the lights from nearby buildings are beautiful and bright. I highly recommend the snack shop across the street – they have a wide variety of traditional Korean snacks. I'd love to stay here again when I visit Korea.

I had actually noticed this hotel before. I used to stay at a hotel nearby and even came into this one specifically to take photos with the super-sized Brown bear in the lobby. So, before this trip, I made sure to look it up, and to my surprise, I was lucky enough to book a themed room! They said it would be a random rabbit or bear theme, but I was so fortunate to get my favorite Brown bear themed room. Check-in was at 3 PM, but I arrived at 2:20 PM and they actually let me check in early. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and always greeted me politely when I entered or left. The themed rooms are all on the 14th floor, and as soon as you step out of the elevator, you're greeted by adorable plushies. The room itself was incredibly cute, like stepping into a fairy tale and becoming good friends with Brown bear. The giant Brown bear on the sofa was super cute, and I also loved the blue sofa, though it showed some signs of age. The room facilities were all great, especially the TV channels – there were so many! For someone like me who loves to stay in the hotel, this was fantastic. There were even three or four channels with Chinese dramas, and even more movies and Korean dramas. The bathroom facilities were also good. I really liked that the bathtub and shower were separate; I don't like showering while standing in a tub. The only downside was that the exhaust fan was a bit noisy. I also have to praise their housekeeping speed. At other hotels, sometimes you put up the 'clean my room' sign and it doesn't get cleaned for hours, but here, it was always done very quickly and was spotlessly clean. I was particularly satisfied with this.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! You can take the AREX express train from the airport directly to Seoul Station, and then it's either a short walk to the hotel or one stop on Line 4 to Hoehyeon Station. I was a bit worried about reviews mentioning a steep hill, but it's actually just a short, very manageable incline. The front desk offers Chinese language service, and the staff are incredibly friendly. It's only a 7-minute walk to Myeongdong and Lotte Duty Free, making the location super convenient. The room size is decent too. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel was clean and the staff were incredibly kind! It was reassuring that many of them spoke Japanese. There were also a lot of Japanese guests. The hotel wasn't too far from the station, and there were convenience stores nearby, making it a very comfortable stay!

The hotel's location is excellent; it's within easy walking distance to Myeongdong and the subway station. Plus, there are multiple bus lines and an airport shuttle right outside, which is a huge plus. The hotel itself is a bit old, and the soundproofing isn't great, but the cleanliness is acceptable.

The room was larger than typical Japanese rooms and very clean. It's conveniently located for shopping with lots of local eateries and a night market nearby. Compared to Gangnam, the facilities are a bit older, but it was nice and cool, and there were quite a few tourists.
