Mayone Hotel Myeongdong

I absolutely have to recommend the Mayone Hotel. Let me start with the only downside: the bathroom is a bit small. That's it! Everything else is top-notch. First, the location is unbeatable. I've traveled many times, and this is the first time I've stayed in a hotel right in the city center. The feeling of pure bliss when you're tired from shopping in Myeongdong and can walk a few hundred meters back to the hotel to rest is something you have to experience to understand. During my four-day stay, I practically returned to the hotel for a break almost every day before heading out again. Second, the hotel staff's service attitude is fantastic. I emailed them, and they replied very quickly and promptly. When we arrived in Korea, we weren't sure which bus to take to the hotel, so I emailed them, and I quickly got a reply. The hotel even specifically warned me to be careful, which was incredibly touching. Later, when we were leaving, I sent another email, and the hotel's reply brought tears to my eyes on the AREX train. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and dedication; my trip to Seoul, Korea, was made even better because of you! Finally, the hotel also cleans the trash daily, which seems to be quite rare in Korea, so it's worth mentioning! Last but not least, I wish the Mayone Hotel great success in business. If I ever come to Seoul again, I will still choose Mayone!!

The location is good, and the price is a bit on the cheaper side, so I guess you can't expect too much. I arrived late at night and was checked in by an elderly gentleman. It must be tough for someone his age to work the night shift. The hotel is more like a guesthouse; the pillows were yellow, and there were gray stains on the sheets. The bathroom was tiny, with the shower and sink integrated, making it very cramped. At night, there was a green exit sign light that made it hard to sleep, and on rainy nights, the constant dripping outside the window was annoying. The communal toilet on the first floor smelled awful. Check-out is at 11 AM, but some guests thought it was 12 PM and had to pay extra for exceeding the time.

This is a great hotel with excellent service. The location is very convenient, right in Myeongdong and close to both subway and bus stations. The only downside is that the room size is a bit small.

Terrible, especially for the price. I've stayed in 300 RMB places that were better than this. The room layout is a nightmare; there's no space to open your luggage without blocking the walking path. The bathroom had a foul odor, and there were drain flies on the bed... The air conditioning and mini-fridge were noisy, and there was an 'Emergency Exit' sign inside the room (I'm not sure if someone tried to cover it because it was too bright, but it was still bright enough to see everything at night). The mattress was lopsided, causing me to slide to one side while sleeping. It's not that the place is uninhabitable, but it's just not worth this price point. Myeongdong guesthouses vary in quality, and this one simply doesn't justify its cost! Hence, the bad review.

The location is excellent, right outside the door to a commercial street. However, the room was a bit small and the hygiene needs improvement.
