voco SEOUL MYEONGDONG by IHG

Originally, I booked a hotel in Gangnam, but considering factors like shopping and sightseeing, I decided to switch to Voco Myeongdong at the last minute. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. In terms of service, from the front desk reception to the lounge, the swimming pool, and breakfast, every staff member was smiling and dedicated to providing excellent service. It was really good. For dining, the breakfast selection was extensive and the food tasted great. Enjoying a hot bowl of Vietnamese pho in the morning was very comforting. The lounge also had a good selection; happy hour offered three hot dishes, along with cold platters, desserts, drinks, and alcoholic beverages, all of high quality. The room was also quite satisfactory. It was well-equipped with all sorts of amenities. The first round of the mini-bar was complimentary every day, and the quality was decent. The smart toilet and bathtub were very convenient. There were also USB and Type-C chargers. The only minor issues were that the USB charging port seemed to be of poor quality and often disconnected. The 0.8m bed was a bit narrow, and there was a slight risk of falling off when turning over. Also, upon check-in, there were two bottles of shampoo and one conditioner in the shower, and I had to inform the front desk to get a bottle of body wash sent up. Furthermore, the swimming pool closes quite early, at 8:00 PM. The location is truly excellent. There's a subway station and several bus stops right downstairs. From the lounge, you can directly see Namsan Tower. Namdaemun Market is right across the street, and it's a direct walk to Lotte and Shinsegae Duty-Free Department Stores, as well as Myeongdong's main shopping street, making it very convenient for shopping. The hotel also has a GS25, Burger King, and coffee shops, making it incredibly easy to grab a bite or a drink. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time.

The location is excellent, right outside Exit 3 of Hoehyeon Station. They gave me a high-floor city view room. The room wasn't big, but the bed was quite large. The inside of the toilet bowl didn't feel very clean. Other than that, my overall experience was good.

The location is super convenient, just a 5-6 minute walk to Shinsegae, 10 minutes to Lotte, and 8 minutes to Myeongdong. There are also lots of small shops nearby. However, the room's details weren't great. After closing the bathroom door, I noticed a half-eaten biscuit that hadn't been cleaned up. They also didn't replenish the tissues in the room. On the plus side, there's a convenience store by the hotel lobby elevators, which is really handy for buying things.

Sometimes you really can't trust bad reviews... I thought the hotel's location and facilities were great. There's a convenience store and a fast-food restaurant in the lobby on the first floor. It's super close to Myeongdong and incredibly convenient for getting around, with Hoehyeon Station right outside the entrance.

The room wasn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate, as we didn't spend much time in the hotel anyway. The service was good, and there's a delicious grilled eel place nearby. You can also grab instant noodles at GS25, and there's even fried chicken close by! 😄

The location is good, but the hotel itself is tiny, and definitely not worth over 2000. However, Trip.com is an excellent platform. I've used it for ten years, and every year my family flies for vacations over a dozen times. No matter where I book hotels, even if there are cheaper options, I only use Trip.com because they handle issues very promptly and satisfactorily. When our room had a leak, they fixed it within half an hour, which was especially helpful since communication can be difficult for us abroad.

While Ctrip shows this hotel opened in 2024, it's likely an older hotel that's been rebranded or renovated. The facilities are a bit dated and the lighting is dim. However, its prime location is a big plus. The sandwiches at the TWO SOME cafe downstairs are delicious. You can walk directly to the hotel from Seoul Station by following the overhead walkway, and you even get a view of Namsan Tower. Namsan Hanok Village is also nearby and worth a visit.

This is a hotel I've stayed at multiple times. Its location is excellent; you just turn left after exiting the subway at Line 4. There's also an airport shuttle right outside. The lobby has a convenient store, Burger King, and more, making everything very accessible. It's easy to get anywhere from here. The fried chicken and 24-hour pork backbone soup nearby are also delicious!

The hotel's cleanliness was absolutely terrible. Even before I entered the room, the door was covered in thick layers of dust. Inside the bathroom, the tissue box holder was also full of dust, so every time I pulled out a tissue, it would roll through the dust. This was by far the worst hotel experience I've had while traveling. The price was also exorbitant; I paid 1300 for a room that was less than 20 square meters. The location, however, was convenient, close to Lotte World and the duty-free shop.
