Hotel the May Jongno

The hotel's location is top-notch; it's a 20-minute walk to the palaces and a 5-minute walk to the metro. There's also a Wowpass machine nearby at CU. The room's cleanliness was average (a bit dusty on the furniture), but nothing too bad. Breakfast was modest, but you could definitely get a full meal. Water and coffee were essentially unlimited 24/7.

Excellent hotel! Super conveniently located near the subway, a street with tons of restaurants and bars, plus a cinema and a theater. You can walk to the palaces in about 15-25 minutes. The room was spacious and even had a bathtub (!), which is quite rare in Korea. The room was cleaned regularly, and the water in the fridge was refilled daily. The view from the room was pleasant. Despite being right next to a lively nightlife street, it was quiet in the room. The breakfasts were tasty but a bit repetitive – the same things every day. And for Russians, the translucent toilet door is a bit odd, but that's a common thing in Asia.

The hotel's location is great, close to the 6002 airport bus stop and Jongno 3(sam)-ga subway station. The staff are Korean and you can communicate with them using Papago. The room's bedding is soft, and the cleanliness is acceptable. There are no toothbrushes or toothpaste provided, so you'll need to bring or buy your own. Overall, the location is good and it offers decent value for money. Breakfast is a mix of Western and Korean styles.

The hotel is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from the metro station. It's also a pleasant 5-minute stroll to the picturesque traditional Hanok village, which has many charming cafes. The Craftsmen's Street is about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is clean, and the room was quiet with windows that open. Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM, but you can arrange for an early check-in for 10,000 won per hour. There's one thing to note: the hotel is situated on a rather unassuming side street. However, the nearby main street comes alive in the evenings with lively drinking establishments setting up tables outdoors, where Koreans animatedly eat and drink soju. If you're looking to dive straight into a vibrant, authentic evening atmosphere, I highly recommend it. Walking around in the evening is generally calm and safe (though it's better to stick to the main streets rather than narrow alleyways).

Honestly, I wasn't a fan of the breakfasts. It was the same thing all 5 days: scrambled eggs, cabbage, noodles, toast with butter, and coffee. For fruit, there were bananas, and if you were lucky, oranges. The location, however, is excellent! Everything is nearby.

The room was spacious enough for two people to have all their luggage open with no problem. It even had a bathtub and breakfast included. I loved that they had eggs for breakfast! The front desk staff was also incredibly kind. On the morning of January 8th, I went downstairs for a smoke and coughed a couple of times as I walked out the door. The front desk attendant immediately brought me a warm, freshly brewed grapefruit tea. It was so comforting on a cold day. I'm truly grateful to the front desk attendant.
