Dongdaemun Hotel

In the South Korean winter, this hotel was my sanctuary. Right next to Dongdaemun station, across the Heunginjimun Gate, a few steps away from malls and the DDP, this was an awesome location. The room was lovely: heated bed, air conditioner with cooling and heating, a huge TV with Netflix and Apple TV, a smart toilet, even a hair straightening iron! It was a charming, comfortable room. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

This hotel spacious and can accommodate for 5 of us. There is 2 big smart TV in the room and my kids enjoy watch YouTube and other channel. The hotel provide simple breakfast for guest and welcoming drink. The exit of Dongdaemun Station just in front of hotel. Near DDP about 10 min walk. The halal food (Asia Street) also walkable.

The location of the hotel is great. Nearest train station exit is either 6 (with elevator) or 7. The room is clean and spacious, enough to put our 3 luggages and still have walking space. However the room amenities are rather basic. There’re a lot of eating places nearby and near to a number of shopping malls. What I didn’t like is the shower facilities. You have to shower in the bathtub but there’s no shower curtain and only about one-third of the bathtub (near where the shower head is) has a glass panel to prevent water from splashing. By the time you finished shower, the floor and the toilet bowl situated next to the bath tub will be really wet. They didn’t provide floor mat to dry your feet. If you ae looking for a hotel near to the subway, this is a great choice. However if you want one with more amenities, then I won’t suggest it.

I stayed at Dongdaemun Tourist Hotel for 3 nights during my Seoul trip, and I have to say, it was one of the best choices I made! The location is seriously unbeatable. The hotel is right next to Dongdaemun Station Exit 7, which made getting around so easy. You can walk to DDP, Gwangjang Market, and even Cheonggyecheon Stream in just a few minutes. It’s perfect if you want to enjoy both sightseeing and late-night shopping. The room was super clean and had clearly been recently renovated. The decor was simple but stylish, and everything was in great condition even the TV and the bathroom fixtures felt new. The bed was also super comfy, and the housekeeping staff kept everything neat and tidy during my stay. I also have to mention the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, especially when I asked for recommendations on where to eat nearby. They really made me feel welcome. The only small downside was the shower water pressure it wasn’t the strongest, but honestly, it didn’t bother me too much. For the price and the location, this hotel is such a great deal. If you're coming to Seoul for shopping or sightseeing and want a clean, affordable place with a prime location, this hotel is a no-brainer! Highly recommend!

The hotel is very strategic, close to exits 6 and 7 of Dongdaemun Station. Don’t worry about heavy and large luggage because there is an elevator that makes transportation to and from the subway easy. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the receptionists are friendly and reliable. (They even went the extra mile to direct me to exit 6 of Dongdaemun Station 😂) For snacks, there is a Seven Eleven right in front of the hotel, which made my 5-day stay very convenient. Just outside the hotel, there is the Dongdaemun Gate that is a feast for the eyes, especially at night (see my pic). We will definitely stay here again if we visit Korea.

The hotel was located right in front of DONGDAEMUN, so it was so easy to find. The subway was also convenient when you were going to move to another place far away because Exit 1 LINE 6 and Exit 4 LINE 7 were right in front of the hotel. So if you visit Korea because you want to enjoy a concert or other festival, I highly recommend this hotel. Also, it seems that the interior of the hotel has been newly constructed. So the hotel lobby was very clean, and there are washing machines and dryers on the first floor. The usage fee is free, and laundry detergent is sold separately at reception. It seems that the hotel breakfast is currently being prepared. It will be held next week. The interior of the room was also very clean. The air conditioner was also very cool. The staff was kind enough to ask for the air conditioner to be operated in the room at reception before entering, and it can be controlled remotely. I will visit this hotel again on my next visit to Korea.
