Kololi Sands Apartments

Review for Apartment 1002: I was very disappointed with my stay. There was no towel change throughout my visit, no room service, and the apartment was not cleaned at all. The air conditioning did not work properly and failed to cool the room, and the WiFi didn’t work either, which made the stay even more frustrating. For the price, I expected basic maintenance and service, but unfortunately, these were completely lacking.

Room was spotless, fully equipt with everything you could need. Quick assistance with safe (which is free) and arrival bottle water which wasnt in the room. Morning sun and afternoon shade on balcony. Insect layer to sliding doors meaning you could still let air in the room. Great aircon in room. Pool is freezing but still usable due to warm temperatures outside. Felt safe and secure. Would visit again and was a fabulous stay.

Very pleasant staff and good room Sometimes a bit noisy from other guests and a persistent alarm from a neighbouring apartment.

These apartments are well appointed and comfortable - we are in a ground floor apartment facing north so the shady side we requested. Great big smart television with Netflix and prime and comfortable sofa and table and chairs as well as big fridge freezer and washing machine. Rooms are cleaned alternate days. Swim up rooms look great but all booked up for our visit. Staff are great and helpful. Pool staff, Levan and Amon are there whenever you need a bed moving or an umbrella and keeping the pool clean. Cafe staff are helpful and make a great cup of coffee as well as fabulous cocktails. Requested a table for our verandah to do a jigsaw on and despite some confusion as to what I wanted, it did arrive. Nice new comfy chairs around the cafe as well as table seating. Great views of the sea and lots of beds available on the sand with shade. Been nice and quiet, no rush for beds at all and Mani Sushi is next door which is a fabulous place to eat and drink. It’s a far cry from a lot of the now shabby places to stay around here. Lots are old and need an upgrade. This is modern and comfy.

I came to the Kololi sand on the 23rd of November the room that I have been put in has no water so I have to go for 24 hours cannot take any shower or to floss the toilet I asked them to move me to another room which I have to pay extra in this room for 23 days of staying there I couldn’t take a proper shower because it’s blocked and the water will come into my bedroom and into my sitting room for 23 days. I have to suffer with this after the 23 days of extend my stay they told me they was going to put me in a cheaper apartment but still they have charged me the same amount I was paying in the room before and in this room. I have no electricity for three days all distance. I have a video evidence if you guys need the evidence. I came to the Gambia to get peace of mind and to rest, but this experience . Made more hardship and headache every single day it is a new problem. You’ve got my email if you need any of this evidence I will be gladly sending all of it to you. This need to be improved thank you and I will ask for my refund as well, they refuse to give me a toilet paper when they move me into this room

The views were stunning, pool was clean and the garden was tidy and nice. The room was fairly clean. Our safe was not reset when we arrived so we had to take it to be unlocked and reset. Also we got sick from the air con with a sore throat and dry mouth. It was good value for the money we paid!

This hotel was absolutely phenomenal..very clean.. housekeepers clean room every other day .when the current would go out within 1 minute the back up generator kicked in..I told our house keeper that I was getting married and she surprised us by decorating the room with beautiful wedding decorations and she took videos and she surprised us after we got home from our wedding the management was wonderful my flight was cancelled to the following night and the manager allowed us another night in the same room gave me a reasonable rate and a free late check out .I saw so many beautiful monkeys on the property I didn't have to pay to go to the monkey park because the monkeys would visit the property you can do your currency exchange near by restaurant was on site with good prices the food was excellent on the property and other surrounding areas the workers always all day working on yardwork and repairs .no noise perfect stay it took months of looking for a hotel air b and b..I made a good choice the electricity and wifi was free.. I'm about to rebook for my next visit..I highly recommend this hotel...

Really enjoyed our stay at Kololi sands. The staff are friendly. The pool and beach space is relaxing and the apartments are great. They are cosy, clean and comfortable and perfect for families. There were 3 major downsides to our trip- the pool private to our apartment was freezing and was never in the sun. This made us not utilise it at all. The communication prior to our arrival was really bad and at times border line rude from those who were managing the WhatsApp number. If it was not for the amazing Foday who addressed it all, I am not sure I would felt positive about the upcoming trip. Would really encourage the establishment to train the reception staff and ensure that the number managed is always online or identify parallel ways for incoming guests to communicate. Finally, I had the most horrible beeping from the electricity box outside our apartment throughout the entire stay- this could not be addressed and seems to be a result of the different management within the apartments. That said the bistro food was great and a special shout out to Mallang and Zainab at restaurant and Ahmadou by pool side. The warmth and the comfort of the place made all the challenges seem irrelevant.
