Let me start by saying this was a difficult review to construct as my wife and I had a lovely, warm relaxing holiday, which is what we hoped for. I will start with the negative…and it is a major issue. The food!!! Breakfast - hot egg station was good. Bread, butter and jam for toast. Have never seen rice pudding served for breakfast!!! Management and Head Chef - The milk and yogurt you serve is NOT placed in a refrigerated unit, but left in the sun, on a wooden shelf? On our last day I kept a note. The milk was placed out at 7am and was still out at midday…I have the photos to prove this. Coffee and Orange Juice…I lost count how many times this ran out. Flies over the bacon. No choice of pastries, only bland croissants. Lunch and Dinner - We never, once, had “hot” food. Warm yes, but not hot. There was a fish dish available one day. It had cooled so much the sauce had turned to a jelly like substance. Why put cling film over hot dishes? It makes the meat or fish sweat….not good food serving practice. More importantly there was NO information or notice about any food allergies at all. Nothing stating may contain nuts, nothing about shell fish. When I asked about this the staff member shrugged her shoulders and walked off!! The pasta station - I have never been to an all inclusive hotel that doesn’t put meat or chicken in the pasta and actually cook the pasta in front of guests in boiling water….how long is the pasta sat in the heat that is used with the sauces? The desert selection was awful. Dried cake, tinned fruit used in and on various deserts, unset jelly, only one evening was a hot pudding available. Ice cream was not on display…you have to ask for it and it’s not available before 3pm?? Thought this was all inclusive? And to round off a terrible desert selection, we found Jacob’s Cream Crackers used to decorate muffins and other deserts and flies on cakes. The so called afternoon snacks were awful. Chips, two fried offerings and normally left over cake and desserts from lunch. Loads of guests were speaking around the pool about the poor offerings. We were so concerned about the food we ended up walking along the beach to a fabulous bar and restaurant with an amazing menu and eating there….as were other guests. Hot, tasty food. Hotel Management and Tui - you really need to address the multiple issues noted about the food offering before someone falls badly ill. And yes, we do know what we are talking about as I am an Occupational Health and Safety Manager and my wife’s father is a Michelin star chef. The positives - The staff in this hotel are absolutely fantastic. They make this place tic over and keep the guests happy. Our bungalow room was basic but functional. Great hot water, fridge, safe and a huge bed. Would be good to see some African, bright paintings on the wall. The gardens are stunning….hats off to the crew that keep these looking as pristine as they are. There is a money change office and a good little shop to buy
