Le Mirage Resort & Spa Reviews

The hotel is beautiful, no wifi in the room, 3g only on the balcony. The breakfast is basic, meat and eggs are cooked to order. The dinner is three courses, tasted good, the wine list is very cheap. The road to the park entrance is average, there are washboard sections, you get used to it.

Le Mirage was one of the highlights of my visit to the southern part of Namibia. The detail and style of the establishment was awesome. The friendly and helpful staff gives you a sense of feeling home and relaxed. The wild animals close to the restaurant captured me for hours. I will visit Le Mirage over and over and over again!!!!!

One of the best New Year's Eve experiences we've had, right in the heart of the desert. The view was absolutely mind-blowing, and the rooms were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was a treat, especially the fresh bread! The quad bike tour was a thrilling adventure, and the evening talks around the boma fire with fellow guests made the whole experience even more memorable. This place truly holds a special place in my heart.

We had some amazing days in the Mirage resort. The dinner was excellent and our room was spacious and nice. We also loved the pool and had a wonderful massage.

We loved staying here! It’s a real oasis in the desert. The room was spacious and beautiful and the meals were really good. It was hard to believe they had a lush garden (lawn even!) and pool out here in the middle of nowhere. The staff were very friendly too. We wished we could have stayed longer but they were fully booked. The road to it is pretty bad, which makes it even more exciting to arrive. A great base to go to Sesriem and Sossusvlei.

From arriving at Le Mirage to leaving the service was excellent. The staff are all so friendly and helpfull. The food was amazing and the views of the mountains and the desert whilst enjoying a sundowner was world class.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Although we arrived late, the lady at the reception was able to organise a balloon flight after the regular booking time. And yes, the flight was spectacular in every respect! Also for a visit to the Sossousvlei dunes, the location is ideal. The building architecture takes getting used to, but all is fine and OK.

We had a wonderful experience. The vibrant friendly reception. The friendly and caring staff. The food was on point. Marvellous facilities.

An exorbitant price for the service. The big downside is the total lack of soundproofing, especially since we were placed above the main entrance. You can hear people arriving, the doormen chatting, it's impossible to sleep in the morning when all the 4X4s go on excursions, in the evening when people leave the restaurant. In addition, we can hear people talking in neighboring rooms, taking a shower, going to the toilets, unacceptable for this range of hotel. No privacy. When I complained, I was simply told that there was nothing to be done, no commercial effort was made. For the rest, the hotel is clean, the rooms spacious and the meal very decent (except the wine by the glass which is really poor quality).

We stayed at Le Mirage for a couple nights as part of our Namibian road trip to visit the Sossusvlei sand dunes. Le Mirage is situated in the desert, consisting of castle-like buildings (one of which has a pool). The rooms themselves were spacious with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Each evening, an outdoor bar would be set up for sunset while the fire was lit outside to keep everyone warm which was nice as it allowed you to enjoy the sunset with a drink but also meet other families who were staying at the hotel. The fire is kept going long after dinner and often families would go back after dinner and socialise which was nice. Food at Le Mirage was pretty good and out of all the lodges in Namibia, it had some of the best food. It was one of the only lodges that cooked the steaks perfectly and it had a nice variety in the menu each night. In addition to that, staff were extremely friendly. We chose to do the Sossusvlei tour and we didn’t end up doing the quad bike tour. The Sossusvlei tour was an extremely early morning start and was done with another family. Our guide Fleming drove us into Sossusvlei, showing us Dune 40, Dune 45, Big Daddy and Big Mama. He catered to the entire group as we chose which dune we would like to climb before we went to Deadvlei which was incredible. We also stopped for coffee and tea before heading to the Sesriem Canyon for a brief walk there before heading back. Fleming was fantastic as he was great fun but also extremely knowledgable. The tour is a must do if you stay at this hotel. Overall I highly recommend staying at Le Mirage as it is a good option in Sossusvlei.
