I reached the hostel around 3am and could check in but had to use the public toilet. I specifically indicated lower bunk when booked but was given upper bunk instead, meaning they do not answer the requests of guests. Do not order parcels to the hostel unless you want to dig through a lot of them as it is messily placed near the rack on the floor and you have to find it yourself which is exhausting, the reception will not help you and if you ask them where it is they also do not know. For this price it is merely a place for basic hygiene and sleep. Prepare your own towel, toiletries and slippers, they only provide shampoo and body wash and toilet paper. The pictures here are not exactly how the hostel really looks like, it's messier than I thought. Still ok place to stay for solo travellers.

Dengba hostel is quite a busy venue with great location,full of teenager energy and vibes,fully booked and a busy place. Some room need T.L.C.at some points such as the bad position of wall mount cloth hanger( the bathroom ) too close to the shower faucet and other fixing. Too many visitors but less maid or housekeeper to keep up especially at evening time.The staff are very helpful via Google translate app.The bed (bunk bed fixing) is quite loose and making squeaky noise every time I turned while sleeping. There are so many food Venues/ stalls in this busy area. So many Chinese youngsters love to order delivery foods. I would love to come back staying again. 4/5 satisfaction. You can ask for an ear plug if you have to sleep with a snorer 🤣🤣🤣. You can get here by taking Metro Line2. and walk to Lmall underground with A/C and following the MRT Line 9 Shangcheng road station exit 2

i really enjoyed my stay. it has a curtain for privacy in the room. and shared bathroom and shower is in the room. and i really liked the common space because i stayed up late and lot of young people are there doing their works and playing games. it gives me chill. and i got friends in there. i hope we can see each other in another time.

The hotel itself is perfect with the price and everything, except the guests there smell very badly. I think some of them stay for a long term but less frequently change the bed sheet. Some even dried their underwear in the bunk beds. The hotel is perfect but there should be management regarding the smell and cleaning.

This is an amazing hostel in a fantastic area of Shanghai located near 2 subway lines, several malls and many buses and walking distance to Shanghai tower/ Oriental pearl tower!
A little hard to find on the 2nd floor inside the shopping center at 4am but when called they were able to give directions. (Called Dengba Inn on Apple Maps)
Everyone is really friendly here and the stay is great!
The bed is a typical cabin bed but you get an outlet, fresh bedding (put on yourself) and a little table and light. The bed is comfy, the room has a shower and toilet separate from the sink which is useful and great when sharing with other people - though can be a little messy! (You get your own locker - safe with only keycard access but people leave things everywhere! Not the places fault)
Couldn’t recommend this place enough and if I go back would definitely stay here again!
