Mövenpick by Accor Shanghai People's Square

The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were very friendly and kind. All my requests were handled quickly. The hotel staff even helped deliver express packages and food deliveries directly to my room. The elevator design is thoughtful and private, so you don't have to worry about people stopping on random floors. There's a laundry room with LG washing machines and dryers, which means you can pack light! Nanjing Road is right downstairs, and you can buy butterfly pastries next door, which is super convenient!

This is a brand new hotel with excellent facilities and a superb location – it's tucked away in a quiet spot but still within walking distance to both Nanjing East Road and Nanjing West Road shopping areas. They even offered welcome fruits and special drinks, which was a lovely touch! 🥰

The hotel's location is excellent, so I can overlook the fact that the room wasn't very spacious. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to an executive room on a higher floor with a street view, though the air conditioning wasn't very effective. We received welcome fruits and chocolates, which was a nice touch.

I chose this Accor Mövenpick (the name is a bit hard to remember!) after comparing several hotels around the Shanghai Grand Theatre, where I was going to see the closing performance of Les Misérables' 40th anniversary. Many details made my stay very satisfying: the luggage service and front desk were both very professional. They offered a complimentary longan and red date tea from the bar, and since I didn't have time to drink it, I asked a staff member to pour it into my thermos and deliver it to my room. The toiletries in the room were Jurlique, everything in the room was very clean, and the drinking water was small bottles of mountain spring water. The main thing is, I realized I'd forgotten my glasses after I left for the show (which essentially meant losing half the ticket price because everything was blurry). There was no time to go back for them, so I called the front desk and asked housekeeping to find them in my room. At the same time, I ordered a runner service to pick them up from the front desk, and they were delivered to the theater with just minutes to spare. The excellent hotel service combined with the speed of a Chinese delivery rider was incredibly moving – definitely a five-star review! My only regret is not getting to try their supposedly amazing ice cream; I'll have to make up for it next time.

The room was very clean, and the front desk service was excellent. When my child dirtied the duvet, they quickly got a staff member to change it for a new one. Seeing we had a child, they thoughtfully gave us extra bottles of mineral water to boil. The hotel is right opposite the subway station, making it very convenient to get to nearby attractions. Also, even though I booked a room without breakfast, they kindly provided it for free. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time.
